Coffee, tea or me?

The weekend went by too fast and already the week is starting off on a busy note, so my posts will be somewhat erratic to when I can find time to get it posted.

Today I am featuring a new hair release by eXxEsS called Mermelada, which translated means Jam. It’s rigged mesh, so you won’t be able to resize or move it. The newest hairs have the “breeze” technology, which animates the hair as you move around. I find this a really cool feature that gives you a bit of what I miss from the flexi hair days. The hair is available in two color packs A and B; the difference is that the A Pack has 56 single-tone colors and the B Pack has 56 multi-tone colors. The link takes you to the demo in market place, so try it out first.

I’m showing some new ugg style boots by Empire, available at Sad November. The Aconitum as they’re called, are 100% original mesh, come in 20 shoe colors via HUD that lets you change parts individually. They are made to fit the Belleza Freya, Venus, Isis, Slink Hourglass and Physique, Maitreya and The Mesh Project.

Most of the decor is from the newest gacha release by THOR for the new round of 6 Republic. The gacha set is called “Old Dirty Coffeeshop” and I’ve used all the pieces and have listed them below. The vintage slot machine is by [Schultz Bros.], that was recently released at Cosmopolitan, but should be available now at the store. I’m showing the brown version, but you’ll be able to find it in a few other colors as well.

The remaining item that I am featuring is the cute PeeWee Puffs in a tea cup by JIAN for The Gacha Garden. It’s a gacha set, so these are just a couple of the cuteness you can have by taking a chance at the gacha machines.

Reflections of a yesterday

Even if I didn’t realize it as I was setting up the scene and choose this pose in the chair, it certainly reflects the downhearted mood that I found myself in last night. Don’t you hate it when your emotions become the battlefield. I certainly do and yet the vulnerability makes me a bit more determined to overcome what I’m struggling with. The struggle then becomes that between the stubborn self that wants to get to a place where I could care less… and the sensitive side that gets in the way.

Oh well.. the cats were good company in the meantime. These are the two rares in the Floofy Felines gacha by Jian at the Gacha Guardians Event. The collection includes 16 commons that come in two versions, the head clinger and the hold me kind. There are two rares, which are shown. On click you can change the texture of the collar and coat of the cat. There is a gift that can be received if you play the same machine ten times and Jian’s gift is the fancy feaster, which is a kitty with its bowl of food and animated water. Now there is a method to playing the gachas at this event, and so check out the Gacha Guardians website to learn how to play.

I’m also featuring this tree with chair by Fantavatar & Moonstruck, currently available at Fair Play. It’s a nice decor piece that you can place somewhere in your yard to spend some alone time. It comes with eight sitting animations.

Preparation for the Easter Bunny

The topic of Easter has come up in some of our family gatherings many of times as we talk about how certain holidays are treated in America. While most know that Easter is a day in which the resurrection of Jesus Christ is celebrated, in accordance with Christian belief, it is not what most people talk of.

It’s mostly about the Easter bunny, the chocolate eggs and the Easter basket full of treats for the kids. I am not implying that we forget what this holiday means or that it’s not celebrated in some way like going to a church service. It just means it’s not an in your face topic of discussion for the most part.

With 9 nephews and 4 nieces who are now well over 18 I’ve had my share of contributing to the Easter basket. Some of them have children now and well they’re on their own!

Contemplates her choices.

I mentioned yesterday that if there is something I really like and want that I will spend the lindens for it. Though in most cases I might give it some thought before succumbing to that little voice that whispers in my ear get it now. Though with so many events and creators producing new releases at a record speed not to mention the quality of mesh being even better these days, lets face it we’re spoiled for choice if not lindens. I am sort of laughing as I think about gachas and I should have put a disclaimer that this does not apply to those gawd awful machines, especially the ones that don’t want to cooperate with you for that item you want. If you get down to adding the cost for all those pulls on the machine… we pay a small fortune for an item we might not have otherwise spent full price on it at the store. Guilty.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve also noticed that the price of stuff in Second Life has slowly been creeping up. No, I’m not about to go on a rant about this subject. I think the choice of what we buy and are willing to pay for items is a personal choice. It’s just an observation and it came to mind as I sat here writing this and thought of my waffling back and forth on purchasing a mesh body.

Given that 50% of the time when I am out shopping or anywhere on the grid I see all these mesh body parts all over the place it’s not the best incentive for me to want to have one. I realize that’s probably due to my internet speed more than anything and the rest of you don’t see the same. As for pros and cons there wasn’t much of an imbalance for me. The creator of my signature skin hasn’t released an applier for it, though it’s in the works to be released soon. It basically just boiled down to whether I wanted to fork over the lindens. Then recalling that I had not properly spent the lindens that a friend gave me for Christmas and knowing his inclination of always improving yourself. It was an easy decision to splurge using his gift of lindens to better myself.

Looks like the odds are stacked against me.

I really enjoyed creating this scene and when I was done it reminded me a little of the cabin that my family rented several years ago in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee to spend one of our Christmas holidays. The long tall windows that gave way to the spectacular panoramic views to the Great Smoky Mountains. The open floor plan that had leather and hide furniture just like these chairs and sofa from Scarlet Creative and a massive fireplace in the living room.

It makes me sigh and long for another vacation like that one where life seemed less complicated and much easier. I probably wouldn’t select Christmas week as the time to go as trying to drive in the heart of town was pretty much bumper to bumper traffic. That’s never fun. Personally, part of the the whole beauty of renting a cabin in the mountains is being able to seclude yourselves without the need to go anywhere that wasn’t within walking distance. It’s a home away from home. You have to be mindful of the wild animals that you could run into if you do take a walk… like black bears and foxes. Plus you have to be comfortable driving up an incline, because that was probably the most tedious part of leaving and returning to the cabin. The steep narrow road we had to travel on had all sorts of twists and turns and could be quite scary, especially if there was ice.

The Men’s Department was a bit different this time around with lots of fun stuff being gacha items like the beer bottle Christmas tree and the poker setup. I did modify some of the poker items by unlinking them for placement.

Just chilling.

I finally finished decorating my new home, which is a small cottage that is all open space. Something different and can be a bit of a challenge to decorate when you have no separation of rooms. It’s also the first time that I have a home without a bathroom. I’m tempted to put an outhouse in the back and a small outdoor shower. I’m odd in this way, that I feel a bit unsettled without those amenities. I know. Just call it my own peculiarity. This time around my decor is shabby chic intermixed with Christmas decor in the typical season of living in Florida — all green no snow. Maybe I’ll get to taking pictures soon to show it.
