Stand tall and be strong

Over the summer I took a trip to Texas as I was contemplating on moving there at the time.  I traveled with all women that are members of my immeidate family visiting various cities.  While at each city we took in the local attractions and in San Antonio one of the places we visited was the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch, where you get to drive through acres of what their web site describes as “rolling hills, creek beds, and magnificent live oak trees and witness the behavior of over 500 animals from 40 exotic, native and endangered animal species worldwide.”

I can certainly attest to seeing a lot of animals that literally came up to your car as you drove through at a slow pace.  Unfortunately, during the time we traveled that part of the nation was experiencing heavy rains and the roads where the giraffes were housed and roamed were flooded.  My niece loves these tall and regal looking animals and I do also. Though to compensate they had moved a few giraffes to the front of the ranch in an enclosed area where you could walk to and see them up close.  This was one of the best highlights of our trip as we really had an enjoyable time seeing all the animals and we laughed so hard during our time there that it will always be a pleasant memory for all of us to cherish as we bonded even closer then.

So that when I saw this nicely done woodlance fence set from .peaches., which is their release for the Draftsman Event that starts tomorrow I thought of using giraffes, which then made me remember our trip.  The fence ranges in land impact from 1 to 12 for the arch with the gate.  I will be showing more items from this event in the coming days.

My hair and clothes are from this round of Tres Chic with the hair with fedora being by Beusy and sweater top and suede lace-up shorts or hotpants as named by Petite Mort.  It’s not often that I go outside my natural tones when it comes to wearing hairs, but I felt like something different today so I chose the special colors to wear. I thought it looked really pretty and vibrant.

The outfit is mesh body compatible and is also available in several different colors; 5 for the hotpants and 10 for the tops. They fit perfectly with my maitreya mesh body and to complement the outfit I am wearing the newest thigh high heels by Empire called Weigela that are available at this new round of Kustom9.  The pose is another great one by K&S Poses, which is a continuing one of their Katya sets.

If you read this far… thank you!  I’m in a chatty mood apparently. 🙂

Have a great one!

Taking off the grit and grime of everyday life

Epia 005 Close up

When I got this firefighter uniform, a new store release from (epia), also known as “Every Pixel is Art,” the thought of doing a scene of saving a cat from a tree came to mind.  Except someone beat me on the concept and so switching gears I recalled this animated water hose in my inventory and the scene sort of created itself.

Take me to church

After holding out for the longest time I finally took the plunge and dyed my hair for the very first time last week.  At age 45, I was fortunate that the grey hairs were scattered among the long strands of hair and not necessarily pronounced at the temples.  Though, it was time for a change and one that is rapidly growing on me.

Today I am featuring a new hair by Beusy that is available currently at Kustom9.  I didn’t take the risk of going with a two tone hair color in real, as those things are not easily reversible.  Though I certainly like the look on this hairstyle that I’m wearing and there is always a next time.

Something I needed to be reminded of today.

“It’s easy to feel uncared for when people
aren’t able to communicate and connect with you
in the way you need.  And it’s so hard not to internalize that
silence as a reflection on your worth.  But the truth is that the
way other people operate is not about you.
Most people are so caught up in their own responsibilities, struggles,
and anxiety that the thought of asking someone else how they’re doing
doesn’t even cross their mind. They aren’t inherently bad or
uncaring—they’re just busy and self-focused. And that’s okay.
It’s not evidence of some fundamental failing on your part.
It doesn’t make you unloveable or invisible.
It just means that those people aren’t very good at
looking beyond their own world. But the fact that you
are—that despite the darkness you feel, you have the
ability to share your love and light with others—is a strength.
Your work isn’t to change who you are; it’s to find people
who are able to give you the connection you need.
Because despite what you feel, you are not too much.
You are not too sensitive or too needy.
You are thoughtful and empathetic.
You are compassionate and kind.
And with or without anyone’s acknowledgement
or affection, you are enough.”
