Over the weekend on Sunday after having dinner with family members we all enjoyed time together playing cornhole. It’s a lawn game where players take turns throwing bags of corn at a raised board that has a hole at the far end of it. I’m not much of a sports person, but it’s always fun getting into the spirit of playing with my family.

Though playing with some of my siblings means you have to be able to handle their intended good nature teasing. My younger brother is a big sports fanatic whose played sports since he was young. He loved to taunt me that I took after the other side of the family when my throws didn’t quite make it. I had to remind him that at least I wasn’t whining and crying like he did when I beat him at marbles when we were young.

Well this month Genre is back with a sports theme. Today I’m featuring this gold trophy by Bliensen + MaiTai, which is available now at the newest round that started on May 15th and will run through June 12th. I’m showing only the 1st place trophy, but there is a 2nd and 3rd place trophies as well.

I was after boxing gloves when I played this gacha and ended up getting the mystery item, which is the boxing ring that came in handy for this post. Most of the items except the top and shorts that are from Collabor88 this month are gacha items and detailed below.

I’m thinking of my feisty 81 year old grandmother who killed a 4 foot snake in the garage with the end of a bat the other day when I wrote my title for this blog post. She’s formidable and I hope that if I get to reach her age in this life time that I am just as gutsy as she is. She did the dirty deed and I got to do clean up, picking up the still slithering snake and dump it into the lake behind the house. You could say that’s one of the disadvantages of living in Florida and near water. Not to mention impatient women who will take matters into their own hands when it comes to protecting their own.

I was contemplating earlier whether I missed blogging or not and it was sort of in the middle. When I think back on why I originally started to blog over a year ago it was just to use it as a vehicle to take up my interest in writing and also document my time in Second Life. It was a novel idea, with no forethought as to what I would share — given that I rarely did much more than hang out at music venues and decorated a new house every few weeks with the occasional hanging out with a few friends.

Today, my inner circle of friends can be practically counted in one hand and honestly I prefer it this way. Gone are the days of listening to music and actively exploring in Second Life. It’s a toss up if those things would hold my interest again for long and yet they can be dumped into the cyclical category. Though stepping away from SL even if just a few days both physically and mentally has helped me tremendously regain some perspective and given me the motivation to move forward once again.

With that said I’m showcasing here some stuff from the current round of events that are happening on the grid. I’ve become quite a fanatic of these fantasy role-play outfits that perhaps I should consider taking up some kind of role-play.

I’m showcasing a few things that can be found at the Fantasy Gacha Carnival event. [MeshedUp] has this headdress that is a ultra rare and can be found in colors green and salmon. The rest of the set includes the armlets and belt, which are common and the necklace that is rare. Great pieces to accessorize any role-play outfit. The rest of the items I am wearing can be found below in the credits and its a mixture of the current fantasy events.

Finding myself a bit lost these days and needing to once again find that part of me that resonates this picture is fitting. Just in reflecting back on the last several years and realizing that there has been tremendous changes that have taken place. The kind of changes that force you to also change in some way. The loss of my father, one of my younger sisters having cancer and even my own health scare with cancer. If that wasn’t enough even major work changes and recent situations that leave me feeling a need to readjust once more.

Eventually, everything connects.

Here is some wisdom.

An old Cherokee told his grandson, “My son, there is a battle between two wolves inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, jealousy, greed, resentment, inferiority, lies and ego. The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, humility, kindness, empathy and truth.”
