Preparation for the Easter Bunny

The topic of Easter has come up in some of our family gatherings many of times as we talk about how certain holidays are treated in America. While most know that Easter is a day in which the resurrection of Jesus Christ is celebrated, in accordance with Christian belief, it is not what most people talk of.

It’s mostly about the Easter bunny, the chocolate eggs and the Easter basket full of treats for the kids. I am not implying that we forget what this holiday means or that it’s not celebrated in some way like going to a church service. It just means it’s not an in your face topic of discussion for the most part.

With 9 nephews and 4 nieces who are now well over 18 I’ve had my share of contributing to the Easter basket. Some of them have children now and well they’re on their own!

I really like this single Victorian tower, which is the newest creation by DaD Designs for the upcoming round of the LTD The Event. It probably stems from my love of castles and too much reading of historical romance novels when I was younger.

I love when creators share the details of what inspired their creations and this tower is like the ones positioned on the lakes of Scotland to control the water level. It is 100% mesh and has a 31 land impact and has a large room, the staircase with a bridge 10 meters long.

It’s the perfect set up for a scene of dalliance with some dashing rogue. Don’t you think?

The LTD Event begins January 12th and will run until January 26th.

Whose lifting who?

It’s very rare that I will feel hungry in the morning. I try to at least eat something minimal and it’s usually a piece of fruit if nothing else. Today I wanted something more and didn’t have the time to really make something so I decided to go through a drive-through of a popular fast food chain for a breakfast sandwich. They were out of the muffin bread of the sandwich I chose and straws. I am hoping it’s not indicative of how the rest of my day goes as today I’m playing nice with all of my four bosses.

I don’t know where I was going with this picture when I started to open and put down items received when I randomly played machines in this round of TAG! Gacha. There were only a handful of stores that I really wanted to play and the others I played at random once or not at all. I find this event to be like a little mini arcade except you go to each store to hit the machines. Though what I truly like about this event is the HUD system that you can spin to get to the next destination. It made going around to each store so much easier.

One of the rare items, not shown here, that I played for is actually all items for men. Everything except the weights reminded me of those wrestler shows that my brothers used to watch when we were growing up. I think somewhere in a box of old pictures I have an autographed photo of some wrestler from a non-sporting event that I attended. It’s been so long ago that I can’t remember exactly when or the name of the wrestler right now. I do have a vague recollection of the picture itself as the wrestler is in jeans with no shirt and flexing his big muscles.

There is a new event that opens today that is catering to the men of SecondLife, it’s named The Arena. It will target the medieval, fantasy and the role-play genre and the event will take place on a quarterly basis with the first event opening today. [MeshedUP] is participating in this round with these goggles and flask that came in various colors. I’m wearing the female version and like a lot of products in SecondLife you will find that many items are either made unisex or can still be worn by females with some adjustments.

I sort of splurged on grabbing this limited edition bike, because it looked really cool and it also brought up some good memories.

Sometimes I wish for a simple life of living out in the country and having nothing to worry about other than a few farm animals. I would go around in a dress like this, which is available at this round of Shiny Shabby. It was hard picking from the selection of colors available as I liked every one of them.

Shutter Field had a great selection of chairs available this past Lazy Sunday like these dark wood peacock chairs that have some nice sit animations for male and female. I look forward to showing you some more home and garden items from this creator in the near future.

The theme for this round of The Secret Affair was end of times where you could find a lot of apocalyptic items, which seems to be a popular theme here in Second Life. [MeshedUp] made a helmet and mask for this round. You can also find all sort of other role-play items as well at the event. Georgia on my mind.

A couple of new rounds of ongoing events opened today. [ARIA] brings you this Georgia picnic set that includes the tent, apple pie, cushions, sandwich stand and blanket along with the tulips. The blanket has animations for single and couples with attachable props. As always with Aria’s products you get the choice of a few textures on items and I’m showing you a few here. Lovely colors to set up your own dreamy picnic. You can find the picnic set at Shiny Shabby.

The next item I am showing is the Gainsborough Hat that [MeshedUp] created for this round of The Fantasy Collective. It’s a sweet hat with a tiny jeweled spider in front. I thought it just perfect to keep the sun out of my eyes while I had my picnic. I got a little curious on the name as it tickled my memory somewhat and so I looked it up in Google. Come to find out that the name of the hat came from an English painter Thomas Gainsborough, who was the royal family’s favorite portrait artist. He painted Georgiana, the Duchess of Devonshire, wearing a hat designed by her that became so popular that many ladies later requested to be painted by him wearing such hats. Though the style of the hat back in the 18th century was a bit more outlandish, being much bigger with lots more plumes compared to this smaller one.

Quite a good fit to wear the hat that Georgiana made popular while having a picnic with the Georgia set.

Somehow I lost my sidebar on the front page of the blog and after an hour of trying to figure it out I lost all the settings and the sidebar totally disappeared from the rest of the pages. I’m no expert to this technical stuff and when it begins talking lingo I don’t understand my head gets all muddled up and I quickly lose focus. Hopefully, I will get some time later this afternoon to figure it out or get some help to get it back up.

I have my six month follow-up with the oncologist today. It’s been a bit nerve-racking this weekend thinking about it though I feel very good about what the outcome will be. Though it’s always good when it’s done and over with.

To distract myself I sorted out the stuff from the Fantasy Gacha Carnival that I purchased and after some trading managed to get some final pieces to complete sets. Just showing one of my favorite sets from this round.
