The Cranmore

I mentioned in my blog post yesterday that today I would be featuring a new home. So today I bring you The Cranmore by creator Cain Maven. If you’ve been around Second Life for a while you’re probably already familiar with his homes under his brands Maven Homes and also Quantum Luxury Homes.

Both brands offer you high quality homes in various styles in a wide range of prices. Though having just recently toured one of the previous new releases, the “Roma” home, beautiful large luxury home is almost too simple to describe the beauty and magnificence in size and looks of that particular home.

The Cranmore is way smaller in comparison, but it’s also not a small home either at a size of 32 m x 35 m. It’s a bit of a mixed brick style build as you get a bit of a renovated barn with an industrial rustic feel with a touch of modernness. What I especially liked immediately upon entering the home was the sense of not feeling like I was boxed in. I think that’s attributed to the openness, large picture windows and the high ceilings, which is something you don’t find a lot these days.

The rooms in the house include a bedroom, bathroom, front room, a kitchen with a dining/living room space and attic. The kitchen and bathroom decor is removable. I had a little fun decorating the kitchen with old and new items. The kitchen as mentioned is an open plan where you have the dining room and another living room space. The picture below shows the other side of the kitchen as you enter it through the open barn doors.

You can see the attic space in the picture above that gives you another level to put in another bedroom, office or another sitting area. Plus you can see what I mean about the openness and high ceilings.

Above is the bathroom and the next picture is the bedroom. Just take a look at the realistic detail of the materials used.

In the second picture you saw the home from the back and you see the big window just behind the green loungers, which are another collaboration by Shutter Field and Decor Junction and are available currently at Tres Chic.

If you click the window or the wheel on the wall, you will see the wheel begin to spin as the window opens, giving you this wonderful view out or whatever view you may have once positioned. You can see my hands there as I am taking a breather enjoying the night hours and the flock of birds. Now most species of birds rest during the night as I came to read, though there are some birds like for instance some sparrows that fly at night during migration periods. I think it was one of those periods.

Away from the city, the countryside beckons

Good Sunday everyone. I hope it’s been a non-eventful one or even an eventful one of the better kind. Mine has been rather quiet other than I broke the screen of my phone, so it was a bit of a nuisance to deal with.

Today I am featuring items from [Schultz Bros.], a creator/builder that I will be blogging for. Their products are all original mesh creations, very high detailed and what more can you ask for then at a low prim cost. They have some of the most fantastic historical and abandoned buildings. If you are not familiar with them, you really ought to go check their store out.

I’m featuring their latest creations, which is the Gardens House Gacha set currently at The Chapter Four. It has 2 rares and 14 commons that I’ve listed below by their number. I like doing that, because it can be somewhat frustrating to try to identify the items that go with a gacha, especially if not grouped together in a picture like this. Plus it helps me identify it later if and when I want to use it again. My flickr and blog have become my source for finding items in my inventory!

Below credits is some helpful information provided by the creator to help you make the best use of this set. The miniature replica of the house is not another item in the set, but rather just a copy that I made and downsized it to be the dogs home. The idea came when I was trying to give the picture some balance and was thinking to put out another large building so I put another copy of the house. It would have worked except when I tried to rez the next thing I was short on prims, which meant I had to rethink my idea. It lead to minimizing the house down into a pets residence, which gave me a chuckle as I was recalling a recent experience that my niece was sharing during her hours of volunteering at one of these non-profit animal shelters.

She talked of how each dog had its own dog house along with a pool and other comforts. Making us laugh as she is rather a very good storyteller. She’s like what pet wants to get adopted when they’re living in that kind of luxury? I sure wouldn’t! The homes were set up like a whole neighborhood and the dogs would be sitting on their front porches as if talking to each other. You can’t help and smile at the image.

01. The Gardeners House RARE – Be aware that when changing wallpaper, you will not be able to get the previous wallpaper back. Also, changing the left wall will also change the right wallpaper with it. Same with front and back. **I would suggest tinting the walls to a color (use light color), if you’d like to change the look & atmosphere of the interior of the house**

05. Mailbox – does not close.

08. Wheelbarrow – Features texture change. Touch to fill with dirt, touch again to remove. If you plan on never having dirt, you may simply delete the script inside.

10. – 14. – All plants, please read. These were designed to be placed with the stems and small sign slightly in the ground. The most complex to place might be 14. Carrots. I’d suggest keeping the tops of the carrots slightly above the dirt. Also, linking 2 plants will keep them at 1 LI together. The exception is the Herb garden, as that one is 1 LI even.

15. Garden Path – The path comes wide, and is actually 2 PIECES. You can unlink them, (or edit linked parts for us lazy people lol), and move the other piece in front of the other to make very long path. The Land impact will remain 1 LI, just remember to link them back together 🙂

16. Tea Cup Bird Feeder – If you’d like to use the bird feeder without the stand,you will need to make the string & metal stand texture 100% transparent, then simply place it on whatever surface you desire 🙂

Musical session on a hot summer night

Indie Teepee is back with a midsummer nights theme. If you are not familiar with this event, check out their website for more information. I’ve included the link below the credits, but taken from their site, it’s a place that “brings people together through their love of song and art – breaking down barriers and providing a haven for music genres like indie, alternative, rock, electronic dance music and hiphop.”

There is shopping as well!

Today I am featuring items by unkindness at the event. The in tuned benches come in two version, with or without a blanket and include single m/f animations and couple ones as well. There are four colors to choose from.

I’m also featuring the star fairy hanging by 7mad:Ravens, which is currently available at The Project Se7en event. It’s been ongoing since June 30th and ends at the end of the month. There are other sets available at the event as well.
