007 The Den

I hope everyone had a fantastic time bringing in the New Year and hopefully still enjoying some down time.   Mine was great and I have a few more days before having to haul myself back to work and everything once again returns to a bit of normalcy.  Even though the Christmas holiday is pretty much over the winter months are not gone and what a perfect way to settle down here in your Second Life then perhaps getting away to a comfy little retreat home, which I am featuring today.

This is a lovely open space 15 x 15 mesh home made by The [Den.] with a land impact of 35 that comes with a built in fireplace and chandelier.  It is now available for purchase at this month’s round of Uber where you’re bound to find some other fabulous stuff.

My first two pictures show it as I envisioned it decorated for myself though with this big of space the possibilities are endless.  The last two pictures are just two close ups showing the building by itself.

Summer Picnic

There is a new round of goodies at FaMESHed and one of the delightful things you can find there is this Arlette picnic set from Aria.  It has so many wonderful and fun animations for a single avatar or for couples in the blanket along with several texture options.   The set also comes with several decorative items that make the setup totally complete for you to have a great time.  The basket and flowers also comes with several texture choices.  All the items are materials ready and are copy and mod.

“Summer Flowers” Greenhouses

With the weather getting warmer every day here in Florida I could welcome one of these summer greenhouses in my back yard.   The perfect setting to relax, garden, read a book, taking a nap and so much more.   Aphrodite has given us this to enjoy in world in our own back yards.

The “Summer Flowers” greenhouses come with everything you see pictured here, plus plenty more not covered.   The greenhouses come in either white wood or oak wood.

The set up is also extremely easy!  Instructions directly from Aphrodite.  “Place the rezzbox on the ground, placing the GREEN arrow towards where you like the front middle to start. Select REZ, then wait till the set is rezzed. Move the rezzbox to place it in position, then press “FINISH” in the Rezzbox Menu to finish the setup (this is important). Now you can delete the rezzbox.  Before pressing finish you can move the whole set by moving the rezzbox alone. Please note, you can move the parts after rezzing, to fit your individual gusto, be creative! “

The greenhouses come with an abundance of animations that will allow you to tend to the flowers and activity poses to give you, your family and friends a wonderful role play experience.

I always have good intentions of blogging things that I like and put together during the actual event. Then you know those unexpected things happen that get in the way.  When that occurs, intentions while good, take a back seat. Though better late than never?  I’ll just pretend it is.  Some of the items were from the Fantasy Collective in April that can probably be found in the main stores now. Lesson 39:  Question Your Beliefs

The conclusions we form as a result of our life experiences become the beliefs we hold about ourselves, others, and the world. If we were the last person picked on the kickball team, if our high school crush didn’t return our affections, if we flunked math or didn’t have the fashion sense expressed by some of our peers, it’s likely that we picked up some limiting beliefs about ourselves that aren’t serving us, even to this day.

Here are some common examples of limiting beliefs: I’m not good enough. I don’t matter. There’s something wrong with me. I’m unwanted. I don’t belong. I’m unimportant. No one cares about me.

These hidden beliefs shape our thought processes and drive our personalities, telling us what we are and are not capable of. To move beyond them, we must first expose them, and then question their validity. This is your assignment this week.

Your Self-Love Assignment

Look back upon the negative incidents that occurred during your childhood. Did your parents get divorced? Did you move and feel unwelcome in your new environment? Were you rejected by someone you wanted to have as your friend? Once you’ve made a list of the ten most upsetting events of your childhood, ask yourself the following questions about each one and begin to expose some of your core beliefs:

  1. What belief did I form as a result of this experience?
  2. How long have I held this belief?
  3. Does this belief serve me anymore?
  4. What belief could I replace it with that would better reflect who I am today?

Self-Love Points Earned

Give yourself 50 points for every limiting belief you expose and transform.

Lesson 37: Make Powerful Requests

Our ability to manifest the things we desire is in direct proportion to how powerfully and clearly we can state our requests. Some of us were taught that it’s impolite to make direct requests, so instead we manipulate, drop subtle hints, dance around a subject, or expect those around us to read our minds. What time and effort we could save if we would just learn to ask for what we want!

A powerful request is one that’s clear and specific and lets the listener know exactly what you want and by what time you want it. It’s not a demand, but an invitation to participate in your vision. Remember the words of Mahatma Gandhi: “If you don’t’ ask, you don’t get.”

To turn our visions into reality, we must cultivate the art of making powerful requests.

Your Self-Love Assignment

This week, acknowledge the areas in your life where you’re able to make powerful requests. In what situations or relationships are you able to clearly ask for what you need? With your clients or co-workers? With your children or friends?

Now notice the places where you’re unable to ask for what you need and identify what stops you from making powerful requests. Is it embarrassment? Fear of rejection? Lack of confidence?

Allow yourself to see what belief, thought, or fear you’d have to give up in order to clearly state your needs and desires.

And finally, identify two powerful requests you could make this week that would move you in the direction you want to go.

Give yourself 150 points for every powerful request you make this week.

A Little Cheer…

First I will say that I don’t even watch sports.   My family still will not let me live it down that I said touchdown at a baseball game almost 20 years ago.  I don’t know anything about either team — other than I know they made it to the Superbowl this year.

Though I can still appreciate the craziness, fanatical and over the top love people have for this sport, my family included.  Heck, my brothers, cousins  and uncles had a Pre-Superbowl meeting on Wednesday just to line up what they each were going to take to the party today.

Since I like both Denver and Seattle equally having traveled to each city on many occasions I figured that I would cheer for both.  🙂
