Quiet living spaces

I come from a large family so it was anything but quiet at my house growing up. My mother definitely deserves our gratitude and appreciation and so much more for having to raise a whole bunch of rowdy kids. Most of the siblings are just one or two years apart so there wasn’t much rest in between.

Having a living space like this I decorated would have never been ideal for our home situation. Living in Florida most of my life never required a fireplace either.  The only times I remember ever being around them was up north on the west coast and during our trip to the smoky mountains.

In any case.. it’s fun to decorate all sorts of ways here in Second Life.  Most of the decorations are from Fancy Decor at the Arcade with a few of his older items and some mingled from other designers.  I’m showcasing also one of the past releases by Galland Homes, which can be found at the main store.

It's a messy kind of day

The day has shown itself to be somewhat messy literally already, but it’s the start of the weekend and I am going to enjoy it to the fullest even if I have somewhat of a busy day tomorrow.

Today I’m showcasing items from [Tia], who has this wonderful clock-maker desk and chair set at Whimsical that ends tomorrow and then you can find it at the main store.  The detail and quality of her items are amazing and she’s really doing some great new things.  I have a bedroom set that I’ll be showing in the next days.

Then I’m also showcasing a new hair release by [Ink], which is a common in their messy hair gacha at the Arcade.  You can find the gacha key here to see the rest of the hairs in the gacha set.  The other items shown today are by Plastik, from their Vindeluna gacha at the Arcade as well.  These are such beautiful decor pieces that I will no doubt use again, but if you want to take a look at the rest of the set take a look here.

Riverside Cottage

Morning everyone, even though it’s just on the cusp of it turning noon so good afternoon too.  Just a quick post today to show the newest home by DaD Design. The Riverside Cottage is available at the Ultra Event.  It’s got a footage of 24,5 x 16,3 with a land impact of 39 including the plants. It has simple lines with large windows and the entrance has two planters with a selection of bushes and includes the walking path.

The lights on the walkway are from Needful Prims Store and are the donation item at the RFL Home & Garden Expo, so all proceeds from this go to benefit Relay for Life. The trees in this post are by DaD Design and are older landscaping items by this creator and slightly higher in prim, but still awesome for your landscaping needs.

Hi Honey, I’m home

Happy Friday everyone. I hope it’s a good one for you so far. Mine is a bit slow going, as I’m feeling sort of lazy and now that I’ve had a fairly large breakfast I’m even more sluggish.  Even though I have quite a few things I need to work on in both worlds I’m taking the liberty to just take it easy today.

Yesterday, was also the anniversary of my dad’s passing and normally as I’ve done the last few years I usually dedicate a post to him.  Except this year I decided to forego it and keep my thoughts and memories to myself. I needed to get through on my own this time. I think that’s also why I’m feeling a bit slow going today as yesterday was an emotionally charged day not to mention an exhausting kind of week physically that I need to recharge the next couple of days.

I won’t keep you long, but will mention the few items that I am featuring in today’s post starting with the items from the travel preparations set by [Merak] at Tres Chic.  They’re scattered through the room, but the set includes the world map on the wall and below it on the side is the globe sitting on the storage box that’s also part of the set. The last two items are the flower bouquet laying on the chair and the travel planning items just below the cot.  The sofa and chairs and the pallet table including the fish decor and frame next to the map are by Dreamscapes Art Gallery.  You can find these items at the RFL Home & Garden Expo.  It’s one of two sets that are available.

Last items are by Q-Essentials, which are the industrial reclaiming hanging shelf and the wood cart that can be found at the main store.  Originally they were going to be at Draftsman, but for now this event has closed down.

Sweet friendships always refreshes the soul

Morning and Happy Friday!! I hope your weekend is off to a good start and while I have somewhat of a busy one with things I have to get done I’m looking forward to mine.

Today’s post is a collaboration with fellow blogger and someone I now call friend, Jules, who has her own blog at Sunshine & Sparkles.  It’s an appropriate name for her, as her personality is all sunshine and sparkles and I really like that about her. Plus she shares my sun sign of Aries, with our birthdays just days apart, so we’re finding that we have a lot in common including our feisty nature.  I think she has more patience than me and might not be as stubborn as I can be at times.  I know that’s hard to believe, but alas it’s true as much as I hate to admit it.  I do try to reign it in, because it’s not really endearing qualities to have.

One day closer to the weekend seems to be the best day.  It’s also a holiday weekend too. I don’t have any Easter plans as of now, but I’m really looking forward to relaxing if nothing else. Far from home, but closer than ever

It’s a lovely Tuesday morning, despite it being 81°F outdoors and if you add the humidity on top of that it’s pretty uncomfortable for someone who isn’t used to the heat. I’m used to it. Preferably indoors with air condition and a refreshing drink. That reminds me that I have a mango to slice into later on.

Your teddy bear…

I’m not sure where I got the energy after a long day of travel to go to a local play where the story centered on middle aged people who all had a story. The main characters was a couple who met just after college and then their lives went in different directions.  He’s now a divorced man who was used to a certain way of life and bit bound in tradition.  He was overly polite too and lived life believing something would eventually happen to him, so that he really lived a rather lifeless life in the grips of depression. The woman was 4 times divorced, twice with the same man who had been abusive at least once.

They meet again after 30 years rediscovering themselves and each other as other characters are introduced throughout giving tidbits of practical insight and advice. It was a good play, though a bit confusing to know where it was going until the end where they both decide not to take the second chance they were given. She decides to return to her life of turmoil and he decides not to take the chance and go after her. That’s what I walked away with. It’s really up to you whether you can change or not. The next phase of your life is really in your hands. The possibilities that life holds are there if only you choose to pursue them.
