Let’s stay home today

Happy Saturday everyone. I am literally going to stay home most of the day as I have to pack for a short trip away from tomorrow until Thursday. I am taking a laptop so I’ll get to post as I normally do and be able to log in to SL. Though I really dislike using a laptop for getting things done in-world so I’m taking advantage of a free day today to get a good portion of my pictures done so all I have to do is fix up credits and post and upload them into flickr.

Today I’m wearing a relatively new hairstyle by Tetra, as it was a previous release at the last round of Uber and can now be found at the main store. It’s a gorgeous hair that comes in 2 sizes: fitted and unrigged, which means you can resize and reposition the hair as you like. The top and shorts are new as well and both from recently closed events, so these too can be found at their respective main stores listed in credits. I’ve blogged these shoes before though they’re quite lovely to use over and over again. They’re called Waterlily and are by Empire and still at the N21 event that goes on for a few more days.

The decor I’m featuring is the lounger, which is by Shutter Field in collaboration with Decor Junction. It’s available in a dark and light version and it’s at the Crossroads event. I must point out that the pose I’m using is my own created specifically to show off the shoes, so it’s not part of the lounger. The other item there as well is the organic rust vases by Merak, which I think can work in just about any decorating style you may choose.

Home built with love and dreams

This luxurious home is a new release called “The Naples” by Galland Homes. This Mediterranean beauty has a land impact of 227 if you use the ultimate version with the mesh clay roof or you can choose the standard 183 land impact version with a flat plane roof.

I will let the pictures do the talking, but warn you that you will need at least a 4096 space to put this home on. This home is very typical to the homes you will find in some of the more luxurious neighborhoods in the gulf, southwest and eastern parts of Florida that I opted to decor the outside with that in mind.

This is a home that really dictates you take a visit and have a walk through.

Spring is the first kiss of summer

Of all the seasons I think that Spring is the one that I have less landscaping stuff for. I have an abundance of Autumn and Winter and basic green stuff that covers Summer. It may be time to scout for some new landscaping, so if anyone has any good recommendations for spring landscape let me know.

I’m showcasing the Timber Cove Cottage, a new release by DaD Design for Shiny Shabby. It’s a lovely home with a land impact of 113 with a main area, bedroom and bathroom area. Below credits you can find out more information directly from the creator.

The other items that I am showing are from JIAN and Shutter Field in collaboration with Decor Junction. The first is the hanging couch with the dog, which is a rare item in the Scruffy Shepherd gacha set by JIAN for the Arcade coming March 1st. If you want a peek of the key for the gacha, look here.

Shutter Field and Decor Junction made Adirondack seats for this round of Tres Chic. I’m showing the green colored version, but there is a white and driftwood version as well and come with single and couple animations.

The scent and touch of childhood memories

Today I’m showing the Victorian Doll House by Pillows, which you caught a peek of the inside with my post yesterday. It runs about 36 for land impact and it’s available in both a light and dark version and can be found at Draftsman.

The texturing of the house on the outside reminds me a little of my paternal grandmother’s home when I was growing up and we visited her home in Washington state. It didn’t have a porch like this one, but did have some steps going from the front door. Her landscaping was always so pretty and there was always rose bushes of different colors, as she loved roses. I didn’t use any here, but I added some violet poppies to give it a little color.

Nothing says home like the smell of baking

There was a time that I really enjoyed baking and did a lot of it as I always loved having some coffee dessert on hand for family and friends when they visited, even though I didn’t drink coffee myself. I still enjoy it even if I bake mostly for a holiday or a special occasion these days. When I moved it was an opportunity to go through the the collection of baking pans, measurement cup sets, gadgets and tools that I acquired over the years. I downsized considerably.

It’s no different here in Second Life, where I’ve collected a lot of kitchen ware over the years. I’m just not ready to downsize here just yet. It’s all this wonderful realistic pieces of home goods, baking ware and gadgets that makes our kitchens come to life. I’m not disappointed with the newest releases by Ionic and Serenity Style. I mixed both with some old gacha favorites to put this kitchen scene together. There’s just too many pieces to reference, but all items used are mentioned below.

I’m also featuring a new hair release by eXxEsS called Citron, which is a long hair style even if you can’t see the back. It includes the new “Breeze” technology that animates the hair and a texture HUD that has 56-single tone hair colors. The lovely dress with a lace pattern is from Noche and it’s available in several colors at The Liaison Collaborative. There is purpose in a season of waiting…

We were having another cold spell where temperatures dropped into the chilly 30 plus degrees last night and it made me sort of lazy to jump into Second Life even though it was my 6th Rez Day. Instead I snuggled under covers and read. This meant I didn’t take any photos to blog and then when I attempted to log in today I found that they were doing maintenance so login was disabled for some.

In Everything Give Thanks. Happy Thanksgiving!

Today is Thanksgiving here in America and so wishing all my fellow American readers a wonderful and Happy Thanksgiving.

While I try to live an attitude of gratitude each and everyday this day does gives us all an opportunity to acknowledge and be grateful and thankful for the many blessings we have in our lives.

I certainly have many in both worlds starting with the love and support of family and friends. I also count blogging as a blessing as it has provided me with a form of entertainment, relaxation and a platform for meeting so many wonderful people. It has helped me grow in my photography skills and to evolve in the digitial art and media as well as social media, but I would not be as successful if it were not for the readers who follow and enjoy my work and click the “like” button or leave a kind word. Those small acts are part of what encourages me to continue to learn and grow.
