Sometimes life rewards you with the unexpected

I’m a bit wired after spending the last six hours at the hospital and while I should have gone straight to bed I find myself unable to sleep. I really had planned to get this post done earlier before the unexpected change in plans. I’m also not certain if I will get around to doing anymore posts outside of what I may already have completed. In any case I plan to keep this one short.

The hair that I’m wearing is by eXeEsS and like all her hairs they just seem to have a natural feel to them. It’s available at the main store. The other item is the wreath that is wrapped around me. It’s by Dysfunctional Designs and also available at the main store. It’s only 1 prim and if you’ve already done all the decorating you can handle another great way to use it is like a picture frame for taking a funny picture like everyone does in real life.

Painting our own realities.

Tomorrow the May round of “All The Little Things” event for ToddleeDoo opens and so I’m doing a second post today to show you a few more items. This is for those who want to be an artist when they grow up. Both the creators of Little Deer and High V. made artists sets for the event. The easel and table that the little me is sitting at is the set from Little Deer and comes with a blank canvas to add your picture or a painted canvas as you see here. The stool also has about three different animations included. The outfit minus the shoes is also from the same creator and is unisex.

The other set that consists of the stool, easel and table with everything on top and the painted art on the wall is from High V. I am using the adult version that will also be sold at the event, though it is also available in the TD size. The stools has some funny animations and the canvas gives you several choices in pictures.

This picture was a result of over thinking and not knowing when to quit while I’m ahead. Shakes head at self. I had this idea in my mind of what I wanted the outcome to be and yet I couldn’t quite grasp it with anything I tried. Everything from Second Life being wonky to not being able to find a wind-light that I liked. That’s when I should have known better and just stopped and tried doing this another time. I just finally said the heck with it and made it black and white and infused with a little sepia and called it a night.

We are having a little bit of a cold front here with a chill in the air and the wind is howling outside as I sit here typing this. That means the birthday party I am heading to in the next hour is going to be moved inside, which means the noise level in a relatively small house is going to be unbearable after an hour. Is it so bad that I am already thinking of an excuse of why I need to leave early? Oh well… have a great Saturday everyone.

The big day is just about here in a few hours where you can grab two for the price of one for the 21Shoe event that lasts only 24 hours. My winter dream.

I was short on time this morning, and was only able to post on Flickr before having to rush off for a morning meeting. I have about fifteen minutes before I have to rush off again to meet a friend for lunch. I figured that in that time I can get this done. This is my first snow scene in Second Life all the while it’s only relatively cool with weather in the mid sixties today here in my real world as I type this. It’s a small cold front we’re having as our normal weather is usually high seventies or low eighties.

When I thought of doing something snowy with the Christmas feel I thought of Norman Rockwell scenes. I have always loved his work of portraying American life through his paintings. I have been in Florida most of my life with only small stints of living in other parts of the US like a year in California and another year in Washington state. The latter being where I experienced snow probably for the first time that I can remember when I was like seven years old. Outside of that I have seen snow only on a few other occasions like in upstate New York while on a business trip and a family vacation in the mountains of Tennessee.

This would be my ideal snow scene.

The Ghost Whisper

I have never really gotten the fascination with Halloween and even today there isn’t much that I find appealing in it. I will admit that it’s fun seeing the kids in their cute and fun costumes and I am referring to those adorable costumes like Raggedy Ann or Winnie the Pooh. Because honestly, I find it a bit disconcerting to see children dressed in costumes that have blood or human parts hanging and are really quite frightful. It’s stuff like this that makes me wonder at times if this is how we have become so desensitized as a nation. That’s a whole other subject left for a rainy day.

Even with my apathetic nature towards Halloween in real life, it could sound a bit contradictory and hypocritical that I am about to show you a Halloween product. We’re all adults here in this virtual world (or we should be!) and to each their own. I have even found myself in the last two years partaking in it by putting together some costume to wear around the grid, because I like to challenge myself with putting together something different so far removed from my real life. So if you’re one of those who like the fun and thrill of Halloween then check out one of the items that Aphrodite Shops has released for the birthday celebration at the Cosmopolitan Room.

This ghost whisper haunted living room set has quite a lot of animations in all the props you see in this picture, including my doll floating in the air. It’s all spectacularly animated for your fun and enjoyment.

“Daisies are like sunshine to the ground” ~ Drew Barrymore

My second post for today is for the alphabet challenge and today’s letter is “N” and I am featuring this “Blooming Daisies” pose from Nani that I got in a hunt. I have several other poses form this store, except this is the one I liked most for today’s post.

Actually, the other poses were mostly couple ones and well I have a bit of a problem as I am missing the other person that makes the couple.

I must confess that I purchased this daisy field off market place as I didn’t have one in my overstocked inventory. Though this pose just called for a whole daisy field and for 99L it was worth getting for these pictures. While I’m confessing, I might as well tell that I derendered my neighbors whole house along with furniture to ensure it wouldn’t show in the background. Then with just a change in angle, all that work was for naught as it was completely out of view.

I am sort of continuing my country theme from yesterday with today’s post. It wasn’t planned that way. When I thought about what I wanted to blog for the letter “M” today I went into my furniture folder under the designers or stores that begin with that letter. I immediately thought of the pink diesel truck that I had purchased well over a year ago from Michigan Shack when I came across the store.

When we used to travel during my pre and teenage years cross country from Florida to Washington state I would often be looking at all these diesel trucks passing us on the road and wondered what it would be like to travel in one.

It is not something that I wonder about today. Thinking driving in one of those can’t be possibly all that comfortable. On second thought, nowadays I am sure they are equipped with comfort in mind. Besides MS I am also sporting this cowboy hat from Mesh Mafia and a thermo from Monaya. Yeehaw!
