I will always remember you

Circa 09

The OMGacha started January 10th and will end in a few days on January 24th. One of the gacha sets that you can find there is from [CIRCA], the “Winter Solstice.” The pieces that I am showing do not make up the whole set, just a sampling and are detailed below.

I’m also showing the curves shelf by Dysfunctional Designs, which I modified by sizing it down to sit atop the cabinet there against the wall.  They are texture based and come in different sizes.

Last week two well known people in the entertainment industry have passed and a couple of creators have made a gift in tribute to each.  The first is the Always Deer Hanging Art made my unKindness in memory of Alan Rickman. While I am familiar with several of his movies, the one I remember him most was from the holiday move “Love Actually,” which I really enjoyed.

The other tribute is to David Bowie, who is known as one of the most influential musicians of his era.  MLE, who makes wine bottles for almost every occasion at a very reasonable price, made this wine set as a gift in tribute to the musician.  I received mine directly, as I must have subscribed or purchased something at one point.  I thought it was a nice tribute and displayed it with this scene as well.

In my own story…

006 Tipping

As I sit here thinking about my title.  It sort of rings true that Second Life is really like starring in your own movie that you direct.  You get to create your own character and direct the story to a certain extent.  When I first started I remember teasing it was like starring in my own animated Disney movie and playing dress up.  As you can see I have just as much fun dressing up my child alt as I do dressing up my adult avatar.

004 In my own story

Even though today I’m just goofing.  It was fun putting together these cute “Inside the Story” items from 8f8 that are available at the Dreamers Factory event until the 22nd of August.

Coastal “Sea Shell” Chairs

“If you only knew how much those little moments with you mattered to me.” ~ Reminiscingourmoments | Tumblr

Mi Amor

Today I want to share these new chairs that Heart Homes/Aphrodite Shops recently released. There is a chair for a man and one for a woman, because the animations and props are made for each. A choice of seven fabrics that you could choose from and fourteen animations in each chair.  What I like about these chairs is that when you choose a certain animation that comes with a prop a box comes up inviting you to accept and when you do the prop automatically gets positioned in place.  It’s not a new technology though I do like seeing it in furniture items as it won’t add another item into your inventory when accepting a prop.

Drinking Wine

I want to introduce someone who has been in several of my blog posts and to date I have not mentioned anything about him.  He is not my male alt that I have used in past blog posts, rather he is someone who has become a close friend and an important  part of my life.  His name is Draco. He deserves to be mentioned and not only just for always being so agreeable to pose with me.  Though the rest I’ll keep between him and me.  🙂

O is for… (challenge)

Crying 4

I put this picture together last night, so today I get to post a little earlier than usual.  When I was looking for something that began with the letter “O” it was hard to come up with anything that didn’t begin with like orange and I didn’t have too many designers with the letter either.   Though as I was going through some of my of dated folders (a habit of dumping everything I purchase into a folder and dating it) I ran across this sweater from OhmEga.   For the life of me I don’t remember buying it or do I recognize the designers name.   However, as I put it on to see how it looked, the sweater is actually very nice.  Plus it’s very comfy to relax and lounge in.   My mood certainly called for a nice huge cup of ice cream to make it all better.

I am also featuring this cute bunny that Ohmai released for the Love Donna Flora event and since its Easter time, it seemed perfect to include.

Lesson 35

Snapshot_002 (4)

I love small things like this mirror in Second Life and thought it was the perfect item to remind myself to do what this very lesson imparts.

Reminds self to remind self to remind self…. to post it!  🙂

Lesson 35: Put It On Paper!

Incomplete actions take up space in our awareness. When we retain information or unfinished to-dos in our minds rather than on a calendar or scheduling system, we become easily distracted from the truly important tasks.

If you’ve been feeling confused, unfocused, or scattered, this weekly assignment will give you some much-needed peace of mind. Just think: What else could you be dreaming, planning, and creating if your mind were relieved of all the details it’s been holding?

Your Self-Love Assignment

This is the week to put everything you’ve been holding in your head onto paper. Use the following questions to trigger your memory.

  • Are there appointments you need to make? The dentist? The accountant? The gardener? The hairdresser?
  • Are there phone calls or e-mails you need to return?
  • What other forms of communication do you need to deliver? Do you have birthday cards or thank-you notes to send?
  • Are there scraps of paper or sticky notes bearing useful information all over your home and car?
  • Are there items to be returned or bills to be paid?

After you’ve captured on paper everything that needs to get done, assign a specific date by which each item will be complete.

Self-Love Points Earned

Give yourself 50 points for each task you take out of your mind and put into your schedule.

Never hurts to start early…

Final 11-26-13 Blog

About 3-4 years ago my mother decided that it was time that each of her six daughters take a turn in preparing the turkey.  While each sibling has individual dishes that they are assigned to make, the main bird has always been prepared by my mother, who is an excellent cook.

I am an average cook and I love to tease my mother that it’s her fault, because she didn’t like people in the kitchen while she was preparing food.  Over the years she has taught us each what we want to know, though when it comes to Thanksgiving we are always in such a frenzy that it’s never been the focus of showing anyone how to prepare and cook a turkey.

Thank goodness for the Internet, which has made it easy to find out anything you want to know.   When it was my turn to cook the turkey I learned all about brining and that’s the way I went.  No one passed out in sickness, so I would say that it turned out pretty good.  🙂

Happy Turkey preparations!
