I'm not ready to fall for winter

Morning! Not much time to say a whole lot, but there is quite a bit being shown today starting with a new home release by Llorisen at FaMESHed. It’s a fabulous lodge styled a bit like a barn, but with a wrap around porch and comes in versions with or without a counter and with or without snow.  I will be featuring two more pictures in later posts to show how I decorated the spaces.  Though if you want more previews, visit the creator’s Flickr here or visit the FaMESHed event if you haven’t been by.  It’s a great lodge for the winter and perfect for rocking chairs sipping hot chocolate. Ok, so I might have to do another scene just for that!

The furnishings used is a mixture of several designers at events all over the grid, so this is when I must point you down to credits. I provided the creators Flickr when available for the items shown.

The Laurel Ridge

Today I am featuring the Laurel Ridge home, a 100% mesh original design by Galland Homes available at FaMESHed.  The home is 31. m x 25 m. with a land impact of 232 and is copy and mod. The following description is from the creator itself.

“This luxury home is composed of timber frame with stone accents and vertical board and batten siding. The home is materials ready and best viewed with advanced graphics enabled*.

You will find warm tones throughout and architectural elements consistent with modern luxury log home construction.

The home included a large great room with working fireplace, open bay windows to overlook your vista, space for a kitchen, dining area, powder room, and master suite. The second floor includes two other large bedroom or office spaces.”

If you haven’t made it over to the 6th Republic Event, then you really should. You only have until the 20th to not only see the fantastic job they did on the sim for the event, but also to grab some of the best decor around the grid.

Selah Chapel

Every quarter a new subscription of the Builder’s Box is released and this quarter the theme is Christmas Village, which is just in time to help you decorate and celebrate Christmas in Second Life.

Since it’s a little early for snow for me plus I’m not ready to leave the Autumn weather behind I choose to decorate in this season instead. I’m featuring the Selah Church by Spargel & Shine Homes, who has given us the option of having this building with or without snow. It carries a land impact of 81 and with just a click of the switch on the inside near the front doors it brings up the menu that allows snow on the roof and on the ground surrounding the church.

To complete the scene I am using the Valkenberg Wall Set by N4RS, available now at FaMESHed. It comes with a few pieces to help you build your own wall set to fit your needs, whether its just a small section near your home or if you want to enclose your whole surroundings.  The set also includes a park bench and street light.  I’m also showcasing the old memory bicycle by DaD Design, also available at FaMESHed. The bicycle is available in two versions, one as shown and the other a winter edition. It has a land impact of 6, with the winter version at 10 and each comes with single and couple poses.

Autumn colors

I mentioned in my “Breakfast for dinner anyone?” post that I would be showcasing the Gilley Lake House by Thistle again.  Here it is once more with another room decorated with the country home set by Cheeky Pea and other decor items by various creators all listed below in credits.

The lake house is being shown without the steps in front or back.  It has a 127 land impact with a 23 x 23 footprint. You can change the colors of the inside walls with a texture change menu accessed by touching the keys near the front door. It has scripted doors & windows and is original mesh and provided as copy and mod. The picture below coming from the angle from the room where I showed the kitchen decor gives you somewhat of a view of the floor plan and colors.

Bloodcroft Castle

Over the weekend DRD released a gacha of massive proportions.  It’s quite epic as you can tell by looking at just the castle in the first picture, which is one of two rares out of a 40 piece set.  The rocks beneath the castle is the second rare.

I am not showing the entire pieces in the set or the castle, but hope these pictures gives you a feel for the quality and workmanship that was put into this set and encourages you to visit their store.  To help you identify everything I’m providing you with two additional sources, the key to the gacha here and DRD website, where it might contain a little more information.

The key you will note contains the amount of land impact for each piece, which runs from 1 to 1060 being the highest land impact for the castle.

In the first picture I am also showcasing once again the wonderful enchanted wiccan trees by Heart at FaMESHed and the ravens by JIAN at Salem.

The three witches manor

I was not sure and in fact had already decided that I would not be able to showcase the latest release by DaD Designs, which is the Westbury Manor. It has a hefty land impact of 493, plus you need a large size parcel to make it work, but due to the timing of another project that freed up prims I was able to take advantage to get a quick picture in.  The Westbury Manor is available at FaMESHed until the end of the month. I’m also showcasing Halloween decor items from Cosmopolitan by Mesh India and Chez Moi.  The animals used are by JIAN, the first is the Avian Arcana gacha at Lootbox and the other is the spiders from their collection at FaMESHed.  The last items that I want to mention are the bare wicca trees by Heart out now at FaMEShed as well.  There is a large selection of trees available in the pack, that really are quite perfect for your Halloween decorating needs or for some spooky forest maybe.

“Westbury Manor” is freely inspired by “Old Westbury Garden” located in Long Island.  It is a beautiful family house in American Georgian style. A large entrance welcomes you with a staircase on the left. On the right there is a small study. You can also access to a very big living room, a second study and a tea room. Behind the staircase there is a door with which you can access to a secondary entrance, a kitchen and a dining room. Upstairs you can find two spacious bedrooms, the master room and a bathroom and a bathroom.  Outside the “Westbury Manor” you can find a luxury patio in which you can relax.

The windows of the whole house can be opened and have been arranged openings of different heights to create the most natural look possible.

EXTERIOR HOUSE:
Climbing plants surround the outside of the house and give a romantic and unique atmosphere. By touch you can change the season of plants (including winter)

Sometimes its better to walk away from temptation

Happy Friday!! It also means Fifty Linden Friday today only — in case you aren’t aware of this ongoing weekly event, every Friday participating stores have an item out for only $50 lindens. It’s a wonderful opportunity to grab some often cute fashion, poses and home and garden decor.  One of today’s bargain is this food trailer by Anhelo, which is available in two colors. The condiment bottles and hot-dog packages are group gifts. It’s really worth the buy and great for sim decor, role-play or in this case for creating a scene for a quick snapshot.

The other decor being featured is the bench by .:revival:., which is part of October’s Deco(c)rate mystery box and the cute chipmunk collection along with the fallen log is by JIAN, available at The Season’s Story.

To complete the scene I put myself in there wearing new hair by eXxEsS called Verona that can be found at their main store.  The dress is by Scandalize and comes in various colors and it’s currently available at FaMESHed and the new shoes are by Empire and can be found at Collabor88.  As always with Empire shoes, for one set price you get a HUD with 12 colors.  Please note that I’m using all Slink mesh body parts instead of Maitreya, though can be found for the latter as well.
