It’s almost that time again ladies where you can grab some fabulous shoes for the price of one.   The 21Shoe event is every month on the 21st and only for 24 hours can you buy two pairs of exclusive shoes from some of the established shoe creators in Second Life.  I’m showing two pairs from different designers that are participating this month.  The first picture are the pumps from G&D that are made to fit the Maitreya mesh body, the Slink high feet and The Mesh Project body.

This second pair denim heels is made by KC Couture and has been made to fit the Maitreya mesh body, Slink high feet and the Belleza mesh body.  If you want to see the other shoes for this month, check out the 21Shoe  website where the pictures of the shoes are being added daily.   If you want to stay informed about the event and get some great gifts as well, there is a group in-world you can join for a small fee.  This month’s gift is 12 exclusive fashion poses courtesy of Thirty Loop Animations.

The last thing I want to mention is this brick path set by Jian that she is releasing tomorrow for 25L Tuesday. Seriously, that’s a steal!   The brick path is low impact, and has 26 pieces and 12 texture options that can be changed either piece by piece or to all paths of this set by one click.   After tomorrow the price will go up, so make sure you grab it.

Cinco De Mayo 015

When I saw this top and skirt from Ala Folie several days ago I thought it would be perfect to go around in for Cinco de Mayo.  The outfit comes with a HUD to change the colors of the top and skirt and my only wish was that I could have done that also for the middle portion so I could have made it white to reflect the Mexican Flag colors a little better.  This still works really well and I added the white head piece from LODE.  I am really loving the head accessories from LODE these days and this one is no exception and at 50L chance gacha you can’t go wrong with any color you get.

I love pointy shoes in both worlds so I was super happy when I saw these flats by [MeshedUp], especially these in the crocodile texture.  It would be nice to have them in real life as they would match one of my purses, though I’ll settle to wearing them here.  You can find them and a few other color choices at this round of the Black Fashion Fair.

If it makes you happy
It can’t be that bad

Then why the hell are you so sad

While I was taking this picture the chorus of the song “If It Makes You Happy” kept playing through my head.   I don’t recall listening to the song any time recently, so it befuddles me where it came from to just sit there in my mind playing over and over.

Maybe in a way it relates to the state of mind that I fell into this week after learning about something that was a hard pill for me to swallow.  Truth that left me feeling a bit tattered and well… just sad.  In coming to terms with it I faced reality head on and with it came a sense of loss.  The loss of an idealistic expectation that left me feeling a bit uncertain about a few things and bemoaning my lack of experience in things of this nature.

Something that can be a blessing and a curse.

I took these pictures not knowing how they would ultimately symbolize the sense of vulnerability that I’m feeling inside just now.  Being fully naked with my emotions doesn’t come easy to me and I’m not one to bare my soul very often.  Even when I first started to write snippets of my real life on this blog it came with a small amount of anxiety. That has lessened over time though I will probably only share glimpses from time to time as I do now of a whole bunch of a lot of nothing.

I’m going to bare my soul a little.  I spoke to someone that I hadn’t spoken to in what feels was a very long time.  The distance created by circumstances and a decision that I had to ultimately make a certain amount of peace with.

It wasn’t a long conversation.  In fact, it was probably all of about ten minutes and yet those minutes were enough to send my emotions into overdrive and leave me feeling bare and naked.  I missed you more than you know.

Lesson 49: Have Faith

At every moment – and especially in times of challenge – each of us is confronted with an important choice. Will we react out of fear, or will we choose instead to be guided out of faith? While fear can be an important messenger that signals us to pay attention, faith gives us strength and reassurance and leaves us bathed in the wisdom that we’re never alone.

Surrendering to faith is an act of courage. It’s saying, “Even though I feel scared or I’m not sure where I’m going, I trust that all will turn out in my highest and best interests.” When we make choices rooted in faith, we trust that there’s a power, an unseen force, guiding us. Faith gives us the ability to look beyond our immediate circumstances and imagine brave new choices for the future.

Your Self-Love Assignment

Identify an area in your life where you’re being held back by fear. Close your eyes and ask yourself, “What is the message that y fear is trying to give me? What action would fear like me to take in order to protect myself?”

Next, notice if there’s any area in your life that could benefit from a little more faith. Do you have enough faith to ask for what you need? Do you have enough faith to take a risk that may improve your situation? Allow yourself to see what actions you could take this week to build your faith muscle, and commit to taking them.

Self-Love Points Earned

Give yourself 50 points every time you choose faith over fear.
