Nothing says home like the smell of baking.

I survived the birthday party yesterday, well at least 2.5 hours of it. Thankfully, it was held outdoors even if it meant bearing the cold wind. I was wearing my leather jacket that rarely gets used so that kept me somewhat comfy. Instead of what I would call more substance they had an assortment of crackers, hams, fruits and cheese to eat and one of my favorite wines moscato. Just for that you could say it wasn’t so bad after all. There was no traditional birthday cake. In it’s place was this huge cookie cake that seems to be more popular these days that had gobs of chocolate chips in it. I took a sliver of it just to taste.

Now here I am baking up a storm in Second Life. Shhh… I really got them yesterday at the pre-tasting of the Atelier Kreslo’s Farewell Bake Sale that opened today. I am only showing a few of the goodies you can find at the bake sale. While these cakes look absolutely yummy, personally I am more likely to take a serving or two of the creme brulee.

Lost in thoughts.

It’s been a long day that began too early for me to make a breakfast engagement at 7:30 a.m. I’m a night owl and getting up before the crack of dawn isn’t my favorite thing to do or eating so early either. Somehow I managed to eat eggs, bacon, hash browns and a pancake to boot. I was ready to take a nap once I got to work from that overload of food!

It’s a short week for most of us here in the US with Thanksgiving, which means everyone is scrambling to get things done. I meant to post this early if I got an opportunity… that just didn’t happen.

If you missed these South Asian pillows and rugs when they were available at a past Genre event you can find them now at the [CIRCA] store. I love all the colors and the texturing is excellent, clear and the details are stunning. The pillows comes with several poses and I think both the rugs and pillows can work with many decor styles.

Pet rocks

A bit of reminiscing as I write this post. Growing up I was a tomboy as a kid and so I grew up playing marbles and riding my bike instead of playing with dolls and the tea set. I enjoyed being outside and hanging out with the neighborhood kids. It was the simple life and I have very fond memories of that time in my life.

Though according to my sis I seemed to have missed out in my childhood development, because I didn’t have a pet rock. Like those were things we picked up and challenged each other at how far we can throw them across the road. There were plenty of rocks to be found too. The last time I picked up a rock as a souvenir was when a group of us traveled into Mexico from San Diego and we were near the Pacific Ocean and a colleague suggested we pick up a rock to remember that day. I think my rock, which has the date is somewhere in a drawer tucked away.

So my darling sis gave me two pet rocks to make up for my deprived childhood. I mean it couldn’t be because she got gatcha fever and ended up with two of a kind. Giggle. I do think these are cute and enjoyed looking at them while I ate Chinese for dinner.

We have concluded that we have a very dysfunctional family. I sent her a poop wand. It beats me why someone would want to go around waving a poop wand. Except the machine kept giving me that one and I was determined to get the rare bubble gum one. The machine won that round. She sent me rocks in return. I think that I got the better deal. We laugh thinking how these wands can come in handy. I suggested that we come up with a catchy phrase and use it to cast a spell on an unwanted suitor.
