Sometimes sitting back and doing nothing is all you need to do

It’s 83 degrees out today in my real world and so this rustic beach type furniture would be like the perfect set up for being outside enjoying the warmth or the evening while using the fire pit to toast marshmallows.

There are several pieces available as I’m only showing a few items.  The pallet chairs come with single and couple animations.  There are two versions of the chest table, a wood and rustic planks as well as two versions of the trays with goodies. I’m showing the one with the chocolate cake.

Everything in the picture is listed below.  One of the things I like about Shutter Field is not only that the prices are very reasonable, but you can just buy individual pieces.

A getaway where you can smell autumn in the breeze

I’m trying out a new theme.  I loved the previous one except the lettering was quite small, so lets see how this one works.

It’s hard to believe that autumn is almost here.  Not that I get to see much of the autumn season down here in my part of southern Florida.  Everything stays green all year long, while many parts of the country burst into colors of orange, red and yellow.  I don’t get snow either.  It’s one of the nice things about my Second Life… that I can enjoy the autumn and winter season whenever I want.  Not to mention the joy of setting it up and decorating in the way that I would love having it in real life.

DaD Designs is releasing a new build.  The Woodstock Cottage is like the perfect home to get away to and enjoy the season.  The rich dark brick and wood tones that make up this house just creates that warm and cozy atmosphere. There is so much included with this build that makes it such a great build to have, not to mention bargain.  The cottage  comes with several add on’s, such as the stone path with round central plant bush.  Ivy with leaves blowing in the wind and climbing bougainvillea that come in three colors.  Not shown are the stone walls that come in 4 designs.  It has several ample sized rooms and I really appreciate the high ceiling walls with the wood beams.  The gothic style windows and doors is a nice feature as well.  You can find the cottage at 20% off during the Fantasy Collective event, where it will be released. The event runs from August 22nd to September 15th.

The other items that I want to point out are the hydrangea bushes by Jian.  Like most if not all of Jian’s landscape products, these bushes also come with the all seasons hud to change the texture and color of the plant leaves and flower by the season you want.  Jian had also recently released this birdy home petunia planter for 25L Tuesday, but I was not able to blog it in time.  It’s a cute decor item that comes with a robin.

I was in the middle of decorating when a box hit my inventory and I got these new fall items by Shutter Field.  It was labeled as decor so I didn’t hesitate in opening and instantly knew that I would use some of the items in this scene. They were just perfect for what I had in mind.  I love the pumpkin in the basket decor! That just screams autumn season to me. The other items include the fall letters, the autumn frame on the table and the box of plants on the window seal. You can get a head start on decorating for autumn with these decor items.

I’ve blogged this dining set by [ARIA] before on it’s release, but I think it’s a perfect table for the upcoming season.  Especially, with the red chairs, which is one of several colors with the texture change option, so completely adaptable for other seasons.

I’m doing a quick post to show this pier kit by Shutter Fields that is out today at a reduced price for Lazy Sunday.  The kit has nice separate sections and a single pole with all pieces being copy and mod, so that you can design the pier to your own needs.  I put together this simple one to be able to show you the texture and some of the pieces.  It’s fairly easy to use and it gives you a chance to build to your own liking.

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.  Yesterday was super hot here in my real world and being outdoors can only happen in short periods of time, at least for me.  Even in an enclosed screen porch the heat and humidity can still be severely intense and I’m soon going back indoors.

Today I am featuring this shabby deck that Shutter Field has created for the On9 event that runs until July 28th.  The deck is designed to fit 4 avatars so that you can hang out with family and friends. The pillows contain the sit menus for either single or couple sits and each menu has activity animations. The deck also comes with props to enjoy the activities. You can find the country and garden version of the deck at the event.

It’s one of the reasons you got to love being able to control your weather in Second Life. You don’t have to worry about the scorching sun to be able to enjoy sitting out on the deck basking in the glory of the rays hitting your skin or no rain unless you want it.

Summer days drifting away

Since joining Second Life I have only lived on a sandy beach sim during the first few months of joining and having bought land to live on.  It was enjoyable for a while until I moved to a grassy sim and that seemed to suit me much better.  I haven’t wavered from that ever since. Though, I must say it’s been enjoyable doing up these scenes and having that feeling of my feet running through the sand and basking in the hot sun.

To help you set up your own summer paradise Kuro is also participating in this round of The Challenge with this wooden beach cabana called the Easy Breeze.  It’s 100% mesh and comes with single and couple animations.  It’s on discount during the time of the event that runs from the 1st to the 20th and you can find it at the Kuro main store.

The last item is worn by little me.  You know what happens when you spend too much time out in the hot sun.  Yep, you get a sunburn.  Buglets has created the sunburn and war paint set that includes tattoo layers and toddleedoo mesh head appliers for the Hello Beautiful Event.  You get 8 options with each set, that has 4 levels of sunburn with or without war paint.   Lil me is wearing one with war paint, because she likes being a little warrior too.

The castaway

Castaway 004

A new round of The Challenge started today and the theme this month is castaway.   Shutter Field has designed two sets for this event.  The castaway bed set includes the lantern and bed, which has solo and couple animations and wearable props.  The outhouse set gave me a chuckle when I spotted the bathroom tissue on the makeshift outhouse.  The toilet and outhouse stuff completes the set.

The Challenge runs from the 1st of the month to the 2oth and items in the event are discounted 30%.

I am wearing a new skin that I actually purchased a while back and recently found when I was fumbling around in my inventory trying to get it organized a little better.  You really can’t see it in this picture, but you can see it on the sidebar of the blog page.  I’m also wearing new color eyes.  I’m sharing all that, because what I really wanted to point out is that I have made a basics menu up above to list all those items I use regularly and won’t bore you with being so repetitive under credits after this post.

Buglets 007

Don’t I wish to have at least half the boundless energy that lil me displays when I bring her out to play.  The animation override that I use for her has her jumping all over the place and she can run circles around you leaving you panting and out of breath before you catch her.  Though she gets plumb tuckered out too and needs to sit and relax, otherwise she’s big time cranky.  Of course, I speak from experience here as I just woke up from an hour nap in real life.  Buglets has the perfect little checkered pillows for toddleedoos at Fiction & Fables that come in several colors and animations for sitting and laying.  Just what the little one needs when you need her to stay still.

Dear future husband.

On9 opened with a new round today and Shutter Field is participating with this daybed, one of three colors, that has single and couple animations.  It makes a great addition to your decor outdoors or indoor for that matter.  I could not help and smile when I heard the song “dear future husband” for the first time as I was taking this picture. The pop and doo-wop song is about a woman listing the qualities she requires in a potential romantic suitor.  It’s comical to my quirky sense of humor, because my scene consists of a church and liberty torch, part of the Statue of Liberty, known as the american iconic symbol of freedom.  It’s also modeled after the Goddess of Liberty, who also represented freedom from tyranny and oppression.

So dear future husband of mine…  I think it’s a sign that I should demand ask nicely to keep some of my freedom.
