Happy Thursday! It’s been a few days since I last posted here, only because I had a few items that I wanted to get done on my other blog at Alexa’s Fantasy Wardrobe. Though I’m back to show you some new great home and garden stuff.  The first item that I am showcasing is this new skybox by the Hive available at this round of FaMESHed. It has a land impact of 15, approximate size is 16L x 13W x 8H, as you can see with the picture beneath it makes for a great outside view . I provided an inside view as well in the last pictures below, where it shows the wall of doors slightly open letting in the sun or air, which ever atmosphere you prefer.

It includes this little nook, which I have decorated with a few items – some from the arcade, old releases and the ones I’m featuring from Pastiche. They are the two chairs and table nearest to the window. The chairs come with a color texture hud giving you a few options to choose from. In this picture I went with some natural earthy colors.  These will be at the upcoming Spoonful of Sugar Festival that opens on September 9th at 12 am SLT and will end September 25th.

This festival is going to benefit the Doctors without Borders/Medicins Sans Frontieres. 100% of the proceeds of at least one item in each store will be directly donated to the charity plus a participation donation by each designer.  All monies will be going to the American office of Medicins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders), an international organization that provides emergency medical aid to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or exclusion from health care regardless of politics, religion or other affiliations.

It’s going to be 5 sims with over 180 stores in fashion, home and garden and breedables.  Below credits I have put some more information on this event.

The last items that are being featured are the trees by Little Branch shown in the second picture.  As you can see they make for some wonderful landscaping.  The Juniper are the ones with the swirl on the side of the skybox and you can find these at the new round of The Liaison Collaborative that runs until September 30th.  The cedar trees come in two versions and these are available at FaMESHed, which ends on September 27th.  Both are seasonal trees, which means on touch you can choose the season you want and it changes in texture to that season.

Spoonful of Sugar Press Release

For every national and international disaster Doctor’s Without Borders has been there. There is no barrier, border, or line they will not cross, no length they will not go to too bring aid to those who need it most. Where there is need they are there giving generously all of their knowledge, talent, and skills. Now it is time to give back to them.

Second Life is a global community and with the help of AIM, LTD, ModeLS Magazine, The Second Life Enquirer, SL Live Radio, and Versus Magazine we will come together to celebrate the world wide movement of Médecins Sans Frontières with an entire two weeks of parties, events, and fundraising beginning Sept 9th to the 25th, 2016. Join us at The Spoonful of Sugar Festival as we jet off to old London for what this inaugural event and help MSF/DWB to make a difference in the world.

We have some of the most amazing, wonderful, and talented designers in fashion, home and garden, and breedables joining us to make this an event to remember. Take a moment to shop Alafolie, Ex Machina, Zuri Jewelry, Roanwood for exciting fashion and home goods. Stop by the Wonderful World of Meeroos or visit Wild Kajaera or Dragoos on the lovely breedables sim. There will be a little bit of everything from clothing, to hair, and skins. Our Home & Garden Sim will be filled with furniture, home accessories, and gorgeous houses that will make you the envy of your neighbors. Finally the breedable sim will house some of the most adorable, cute, and cuddly creatures that danced through anyones imagination. The best part it can all be yours and it will all benefit an amazing cause.

This is just the beginning though we have some fabulous events planned for the week including an opening gala event, fabulous London Bridge themed fashion show, live entertainment, dance parties, and more. Enjoy a carriage around Piccadilly with Elite Equestrian.

Only one of us can be the star

On Sunday I will be traveling and not sure how often or how good my internet will be to log in and blog.  This means I have from today until Sunday when I leave to be able to get in as many posts done in both blogs to show some of the great things you can find at ongoing events.

Today I am featuring a few things from all over the grid.  The first are these amazing peacocks by JIAN at Collabor88, which is celebrating their 5th birthday. It’s been only 3 days since they opened and trying to get in right now may prove to be a little difficult.  The peacocks come in a worn, rezzable or static version, plus two texture options.  Shown is the blue texture, the other is albino and all this for just $288L during the event only.

The wood bench is by Industry 7, available at the newest round of The Liaison Collaborative.  Two versions, a wood or metal and each come with 13 female/male sitting animations and 6 couple.  I need to point out that I am not using any of the sitting animations in the chair.  This is due to the fact that I needed a pose that would show off the shoes and dress a bit better and the sits in the chair are more geared to wearing pants or dresses that are straight.

On9 opened its doors on August 9th and I’m wearing this lovely striped dress by Snowpaws, a women’s fashion store that has been around a long time. You will be able to find this original mesh dress in 5 options of the stripe and non kind.

The last item being featured are the shoes. On August 14th, “In Your Shoes” will open it’s doors and Oh lala! is participating with these heels called Popy. They are white with a color bow in front and in back with a ribbon that weaves around the heel and are made to fit the Slink high feet.

Your support of this event by buying shoes will go a long way.  As 30% of the proceeds from this event will be donated to the Mexican Diabetes Association in support with Virtual Miss Latin America Organization.

Away from the city, the countryside beckons

Good Sunday everyone.  I hope it’s been a non-eventful one or even an eventful one of the better kind. Mine has been rather quiet other than I broke the screen of my phone, so it was a bit of a nuisance to deal with.

Today I am featuring items from [Schultz Bros.], a creator/builder that I will be blogging for. Their products are all original mesh creations, very high detailed and what more can you ask for then at a low prim cost.  They have some of the most fantastic historical and abandoned buildings.  If you are not familiar with them, you really ought to go check their store out.

I’m featuring their latest creations, which is the Gardens House Gacha set currently at The Chapter Four.  It has 2 rares and 14 commons that I’ve listed below by their number. I like doing that, because it can be somewhat frustrating to try to identify the items that go with a gacha, especially if not grouped together in a picture like this.  Plus it helps me identify it later if and when I want to use it again.  My flickr and blog have become my source for finding items in my inventory!

Below credits is some helpful information provided by the creator to help you make the best use of this set.  The miniature replica of the house is not another item in the set, but rather just a copy that I made and downsized it to be the dogs home. The idea came when I was trying to give the picture some balance and was thinking to put out another large building so I put another copy of the house. It would have worked except when I tried to rez the next thing I was short on prims, which meant I had to rethink my idea. It lead to minimizing the house down into a pets residence, which gave me a chuckle as I was recalling a recent experience that my niece was sharing during her hours of volunteering at one of these non-profit animal shelters.

She talked of how each dog had its own dog house along with a pool and other comforts. Making us laugh as she is rather a very good storyteller. She’s like what pet wants to get adopted when they’re living in that kind of luxury? I sure wouldn’t! The homes were set up like a whole neighborhood and the dogs would be sitting on their front porches as if talking to each other. You can’t help and smile at the image.

The other item that I am showing today is the olive tree by Little Branch.  It’s available at this next round of The Liaison Collaborative.  It’s 4 seasons, so on a click you can pick the season you want. Go check it out!

01. The Gardeners House RARE – Be aware that when changing wallpaper, you will not be able to get the previous wallpaper back. Also, changing the left wall will also change the right wallpaper with it. Same with front and back.  **I would suggest tinting the walls to a color (use light color), if you’d like to change the look & atmosphere of the interior of the house**

05. Mailbox – does not close.

08. Wheelbarrow – Features texture change. Touch to fill with dirt, touch again to remove.  If you plan on never having dirt, you may simply delete the script inside.

10. – 14. – All plants, please read. These were designed to be placed with the stems and small sign slightly in the ground. The most complex to place might be 14. Carrots. I’d suggest keeping the tops of the carrots slightly above the dirt. Also, linking 2 plants will keep them at 1 LI together. The exception is the Herb garden, as that one is 1 LI even.

15. Garden Path – The path comes wide, and is actually 2 PIECES. You can unlink them, (or edit linked parts for us lazy people lol), and move the other piece in front of the other to make very long path. The Land impact will remain 1 LI, just remember to link them back together 🙂

16. Tea Cup Bird Feeder – If you’d like to use the bird feeder without the stand,you will need to make the string & metal stand texture 100% transparent, then simply place it on whatever surface you desire 🙂

It almost feels more like winter with the bare trees in the wall art and the deer candle.  The wall art, console, tray and lamp is the Soho set by DaD Design at The Liaison Collaborative.  I put it near this window, but makes for a great decor for the entry of your home.

There is a lot of great finds this month.  The first is the studio skybox apartment by Apple Fall that is now available for free. It really pays to be a member of his group to keep up to date with all the items he marks down from time to time, especially as he grows his inventory with some more great new stuff.

This month there is a couple event anniversaries that if you’re a member you get some awesome gifts.  I’ll point you to the credits for those.

The armchairs are by Elysium and were part of the midnight madness this month. This month they had a bit of a twist that if you didn’t make it during the times the boards were working and the limited items were still available you had a chance to purchase the items for a small amount.  Not every store participated and each store had a quantity limit as well.  As of today Elysium still had their items available for a small price of $50 lindens.  Check out their website here to get more information.

I’ve been in a reflective mood lately.  No doubt brought upon the fact it will be Christmas in several days and this time of year has a way of tugging at your heart.   The big day preceding the eventual New Year’s that is yet to come and you begin to ponder a little on what life brought you this past year and even may wonder what could come of the new one.

I’ve gone down that road here lately.  Personally, this year has been a hell of a roller coaster for me as I’ve shared before and despite it I find that I have no real hard feelings.  I think by now life has taught me that you are better off making peace with the things that happen and let it go.  It’s especially true for those things that in the larger scheme of life are insignificant.

No, it’s those other things that pull on your  heart strings, the kind that stirs your emotions and feelings that you have a harder time letting go of.  For me it’s been a love that I’ve had a harder time letting go of.  The irony here is that I’m often seen as not being completely open as a result of guarding my feelings like a fort.  It’s true and maybe something that I need to work on.

Despite the hardships of this year there are still many things to be thankful for and I try never to lose sight of those.  As the saying goes… “All great changes are preceded by chaos.”  

The song below is very special to me and I was listening to it as I was writing.

Thank you for letting me share my thoughts and may your Christmas time be full of wonderful joy whether it’s here in second or real or both…for real feelings know no distance.

Dirty 017

I’ve been fighting a headache most of the day and sleep didn’t help much so I figured it could help to distract myself a little by blogging some items recently sent to me.  I need to mention that my blogging may become a bit erratic or non-existent as I deal with a personal situation.  I don’t have it in mind to abandon ship, but my real life will always take precedence so just bear with me if I have to disappear for a period of time.

I bought this outfit about a week ago, because it made me smile as I recalled growing up as a tomboy and loving to play in the dirt.  I’ve probably have shared before how my family loves to remind each other of those things we did as children and one fond memory they have of me is having to literally drag me from underneath this place I was at playing in the dirt.  You could say I was a willful child in those days and that trait has never really worn off.  What can I say?  I didn’t turn out that bad.

Jian has released these tomodachi trees for this round of Genre.  The theme is Anime.  There is a static tree and a tree with a dancing animation.  They both have a texture change option, so you can customize both the bark and the leaf colors.

The other items that I’m featuring are the lavender and green shrubs by Little Branch for this round of The Liaison Collaborative, which are 100% mesh and low impact.
