Since joining Second Life I have only lived on a sandy beach sim during the first few months of joining and having bought land to live on.  It was enjoyable for a while until I moved to a grassy sim and that seemed to suit me much better.  I haven’t wavered from that ever since. Though, I must say it’s been enjoyable doing up these scenes and having that feeling of my feet running through the sand and basking in the hot sun.

To help you set up your own summer paradise Kuro is also participating in this round of The Challenge with this wooden beach cabana called the Easy Breeze.  It’s 100% mesh and comes with single and couple animations.  It’s on discount during the time of the event that runs from the 1st to the 20th and you can find it at the Kuro main store.

Shutter Field also has the beach deck chairs made exclusively for Best of SL Magazine readers and discounted for the month of July.  The chairs come with male and female sits and can be found at the Shutter Field main store.

The last item is worn by little me.  You know what happens when you spend too much time out in the hot sun.  Yep, you get a sunburn.  Buglets has created the sunburn and war paint set that includes tattoo layers and toddleedoo mesh head appliers for the Hello Beautiful Event.  You get 8 options with each set, that has 4 levels of sunburn with or without war paint.   Lil me is wearing one with war paint, because she likes being a little warrior too.

The castaway

A new round of The Challenge started today and the theme this month is castaway.   Shutter Field has designed two sets for this event.  The castaway bed set includes the lantern and bed, which has solo and couple animations and wearable props.  The outhouse set gave me a chuckle when I spotted the bathroom tissue on the makeshift outhouse.  The toilet and outhouse stuff completes the set.

The Challenge runs from the 1st of the month to the 2oth and items in the event are discounted 30%.

I am wearing a new skin that I actually purchased a while back and recently found when I was fumbling around in my inventory trying to get it organized a little better.  You really can’t see it in this picture, but you can see it on the sidebar of the blog page.  I’m also wearing new color eyes.  I’m sharing all that, because what I really wanted to point out is that I have made a basics menu up above to list all those items I use regularly and won’t bore you with being so repetitive under credits after this post.

The beauty of India.

I slept a good eight hours last night even if it was not very peaceful as evident by the massive headache I woke up to. I’m extremely tired today and it’s just morning.

I was playing with the idea of putting down a home again and started by placing out a couple that I got from the arcade this round.  The homes are always lovely, but always tend to run too small for me personally as I find myself not able to maneuver around in them as easily. I know most can be edited and made larger though it means that the prim count will go up exceptionally higher.

This house called the Jodhpur was inspired by the crafts and culture of the Indian state of Rajasthan according to the creator’s remarks.  Jodhpur being the second largest city in the Indian state of Rajasthan.  The house and all the decor pieces are very detailed, and textures well done and you can’t help and enjoy the display of colors.

I didn’t settle on keeping this out, though I did enjoy decorating a room to snap a picture in this outfit I’m wearing.

This is like the third or fourth day I’ve woken up with a pounding headache, today a little worse than usual.   I’m not lacking sleep and I’m not eating anything before bed and not overly stressed for once.  It used to be when I dreamed a lot I always felt my mind never rested, and yet I’m not dreaming often these days, or dreams I can remember when I awake.  I’m just babbling now trying to think of the reason for these annoying headaches.

I haven’t posted in a few days as I’ve been focusing on a few other things like decorating my land and putting a little more order to my wonderfully filled inventory.  It’s a bit embarrassing funny when someone else knows your inventory better than you do.  I made a joke that I was going to bequest all my gacha items to them upon my calling it quits.  Chuckles.

Lost in thoughts.

It’s been a long day that began too early for me to make a breakfast engagement at 7:30 a.m.  I’m a night owl and getting up before the crack of dawn isn’t my favorite thing to do or eating so early either.  Somehow  I managed to eat eggs, bacon, hash browns and a pancake to boot.   I was ready to take a nap once I got to work from that overload of food!

It’s a short week for most of us here in the US with Thanksgiving, which means everyone is scrambling to get things done.  I meant to post this early if I got an opportunity… that just didn’t happen.

If you missed these South Asian pillows and rugs when they were available at a past Genre event you can find them now at the [CIRCA] store.  I love all the colors and the texturing is excellent, clear and the details are stunning.  The pillows comes with several poses and I think both the rugs and pillows can work with many decor styles.

Cazimi Designs

I got dinged while out on the grid doing my usual running around.  The guy says “ha.. I knew I remembered your name.”  His name didn’t ring a bell and his avatar wasn’t familiar, so not wanting to be rude I said excuse me? He said my name was memorable and was thinking why do I know …   I cautiously asked, and you know me from?  Turns out I aggressively played his gacha machine at an event.  Go figure!  Guess that’s what happens when you have a name like “Spunknbrains” and you try to get the rare.  I used to get a few smirks back in my early days as a result of my name, especially from Europeans.  It was always a cause for amusement on my end, but no I don’t wish some days I had named myself ‘Mary’.

I’m showing off some other great pieces of jewelry that are available at the Jewelry Fair.  The mesh necklace and earrings are from Cazimi Designs and come with a texture change HUD for metals. There are several different color combinations and there is even a special version that has an Ultimate HUD that gives you many color choices for the pearls, gems and metals. The Suhaila Indian Bangles are also from Cazimi Designs.  The detail and design of both pieces are very well done and will work with casual to even more dressier outfits.

[CIRCA] at Fit for a Princess

I was a bit pensive and feeling weary as I was going through the poses on this ottoman when I came across this one pose that seemed to reflect and fit my mood very well.  It’s always remarkable what a good night’s rest does to help restore your energy and balance and that’s always good for a Monday.

The ottoman is part of a new set that was released by [Circa] for this month’s round of “Fit for a Princess” event that runs until September 25.

The “Field of Roses” room set consists of the drapes & ottoman that has 10 grey-white fabrics at the touch of the menu. I chose to go with the pink roses on the grey fabric. There is also a bookshelf with a vase with flowers and several choices of area rugs that complete the set. I finished up my scene using some current arcade items.

I read this a day ago and I knew exactly how it applied in my real life.  Specifically, referring to this past year with choices I made that were really not conducive to keeping the integrity this lesson speaks about and now seeing the outcome basically staring me in the face.

Lesson 34: Integrity

Integrity is the foundation of a successful life. When our behaviors, actions, and choices are consistent with our deepest values, we gain the courage to be ourselves, and the confidence to ask for what we need. To the extent that we haven’t cleaned up the unfinished business from our past, we will unconsciously punish ourselves by withholding the love, success, and abundance we desire.

Resolving our integrity issues makes us feel worthy enough to manifest our dreams.

Your Self-Love Assignment

This week, take some time to look back over the past two years of your life. Make a list of the relationships or situations where you haven’t acted with complete integrity. On a piece of paper, write the person’s name, with a brief description of what you did or didn’t do that left you feeling bad about yourself.

Next, close your eyes; take a couple of slow, deep breathes; and ask yourself, “What could I do to bring this situation back into balance and restore my own sense of integrity?” Could you write a letter, deliver an apology, or contribute in some way to someone in need? This action could involve the person directly, but it doesn’t have to.

Design a plan of action to restore your integrity.

Give yourself 100 points for every integrity issue you resolve this week.

Lesson 23

As I sit here reflecting on this lesson, the first question that popped up into my mind was “Why is it easier to show others mercy by forgiving them then it is ourselves?”   Personally, I think it’s because we live in our heads and we’re constantly in our negative moments reminding ourselves constantly what we did wrong.

If you have guilt or shame that is preventing you from living a more fulfilling happy life, then hopefully this lesson will help you in some way to ease up and forgive yourself.

Lesson 23: Forgive Yourself

Self-forgiveness is the key to living an extraordinary life. By making the courageous choice to forgive ourselves for our mistakes and shortcomings, we liberate ourselves from the bonds of our past and open the door to a new future.

When we forgive ourselves, we feel worthy and deserving of receiving everything that life has to offer.

Your Self-Love Assignment

This week, make a list of all the behaviors and incidents for which you want to be forgiven. After writing down your list, say a prayer asking for the compassion to forgive yourself. Then put your list in a sealed envelope next to a seven-day candle (which you can get at most gift stores).

Light this candle and let it burn an hour a day. As it burns, think about why you’re worthy of your own forgiveness.
