What a wonderful morning and I wasn’t so sore this morning thankfully. This is a quick post to show you a couple of items. This Christmas theme living room set is by Aphrodite Shops out now at their main store. This sofa was made for a couple and has many animations with activities including dances for that romantic evening. The single chairs come with activities as well and the set comes with the tables and lamps and table arrangement.

The gift boxes are from BoOgErS and are available as a gacha item at the Tennenbaum Holiday Market. Great for gift giving and so many great things at the market. The wreath previously shown in a post is from Jian and also available at the holiday market. Here is another color selection that is so easily done using their menu.

Time spent in nature is never time wasted

I spoke of the awesome trees that are in this new place I now call home in the central part of the state. This is not even close to some of the bigger ones I’ve seen. It was just one of dozens in the park where I took an hour walk today and I couldn’t help but snap a picture with my phone.

No doubt I will be paying for my power walk come morning because some of these muscles haven’t been used in a while. Though it was nice to enjoy the cool breeze and see people just enjoying themselves with their families or their pets. I can see the advantage of having a dog, especially in large parks like this one where its nestled among large trees that you can become hidden from view.

Anyway, was fixing this picture for my own personal use in the future when I need reference for a painting and thought to share.

The clock is ticking to countdown

There is an air of excitement in the air as the focus has turned to Christmas now. Just like in real life there is an abundance of Black Friday sales in Second Life for you to take advantage of to buy gifts for family and friends or yourself. There is also the increasing buzz of excitement as the Arcade is soon approaching.

Today I am featuring all these lovely pieces from .aisling. that will be at the Arcade come December 1st. I absolutely loved every piece of the Nini’s Living Room set. There were just a few items that I wasn’t able to put in this scene, but I have included the vendor picture below so that you can look at everything and know what number applies to each piece.

Having a beary good time

In a few short days we enter the month of December and that means the Arcade is back! That also means the famous BoOgErS bears are back too! This set like all the previous ones are just adorable. I’m already having a blast as you can see, except my sled got stuck and mommy dearest is nowhere to be found. She’s the best mommy ever!

The first picture shows the skating bears and below are the caroling bears. I can’t wait to show you the rest of the set in the coming days.

I’m also featuring these poses by p.o.s.e kids that will be at the upcoming round of All the Little Things. The sledge one comes with the prop and the one below comes with the Christmas cookies that are wearable for the pose.

I am not crediting the clothes as these are all old clothes and put together from different outfits, previous gacha and the coat was from a limited event that is no longer available. Though if you want to know about any particular item, always feel free to contact me.

Happy Thanksgiving!

A few years ago we started a new tradition in our family that all the women would get a turn in making the turkey for Thanksgiving. With several females in the immediate family your turn is not going to come around for another 3-5 years at least. I’m not sure where I’m in the queue right now.

Every year I get tasked with making a few of the same things, because everyone loves it. Or maybe it’s to keep me from being a disaster in the kitchen?

Happy Thanksgiving!! Many thanks and blessings to all of you out there who celebrate Thanksgiving. May you enjoy being with your friends and family on this day and just remember that being thankful is an everyday thing.

I’m the best gift ever!

The Tannenbaum Holiday Market opens today with lots of Christmas goodies for you to enjoy and decorate your home with. I’m featuring a bunch of Christmas items from Jian available at this event. The wreaths in all shapes and forms, candles under the fireplace, decorative tree baubles, paintings and the serving cart. The wreaths are texture change, which is something I totally love to give you a mixture of choices to decorate with.

The sofa and chair are by DaD Design and are available at Lost & Found. They come in both pg and adult version and are texture change as well. I left them in two different textures to show you at least two possible choices. The decorative wall ladder is also by DaD Design and available at the Fantasy Collective.

Also showing some Christmas items by [CIRCA] at the Thrift Shop that is open only a few more days. The ball candles on either side of the fire place and then berry tree planter and twig bucket.

Then unKindness has released some new items for Lost & Found. I’m only showing one item of the set that I fit into this decor. The battered old hatstand with the winter scarf, but make sure you go check out the rest.

Last, but definitely not least is the pose by Buglets that little me is using is the best gift. I know right? I am. It is part of a gacha set at the Everything Kids Gacha.

There is always something to be thankful for

If you haven’t gotten your Thanksgiving meal head over to Aphrodite Shops and check out their Thanksgiving Buffet. Everything you need to make this day a special one with your SL family. I’m also showing Aria’s release for the Tannenbaum Holiday Market. The Myrrh vintage tree decor is absolutely lovely and what a fun way to enjoy the season by decorating a tree to your liking. Mine is a miniature version for table decor, but the decorations are for any size tree as they can be stretched.

I’ve been pondering life a lot lately and part of that assessment is being grateful for the many blessings that I still have in my life. It’s so easy to forget at times and especially when we go through bad periods in our life that it can overshadow all the good.

I’ve shared the last year has not been one of my greatest and yet despite all the days of stress and often times even depressing ones I am still grateful for many things in life. I have family and friends that love and support me even if they don’t understand every thing that is going on or able to help. They accept and love me for who I am. I know they are there and for that alone I am thankful.

I have my health, especially my sanity in this crazy chaotic world where it seems there is more insanity abound than ever.

I’m thankful to all my followers and readers that let me share bits and pieces of Second Life through the creations that are shared with me to show the beauty of this virtual world. I’m also thankful that you allow me to share my personal thoughts of my real world as an outlet for expression.

Trusting the magic of change and new beginnings

I was going to wait and post this picture until after Thanksgiving, but this morning I woke up and my room was quite chilly. I’m used to warm weather during this time of year so it’s a bit of a shock to the system to feel the chill in the air. This means I’ll be trading in my flimsy thin nightwear for those plaid flannel pajamas very soon along with warm fuzzy socks.

Moving further up the state has been a bit of a culture shock as well and something that I am not adjusting to too well. While a lovely scenic city with a lot of lushness greenery and some massive oak trees and bald cypress with Spanish moss it still feels a bit antiquated.

Change is hard and it’s something that I’m experiencing at a faster rate these days in just about every area of my life. Some changes are not very pleasant as I just learned this past week, though I know overcoming these periods makes you stronger. Improvement can’t happen without change and so embracing it means you learn and grow as you turn the directional path from the one you’re used to. It brings new beginnings as you turn the page and strengthens you for the next chapter in your life.

I put together the following scene just for fun using some more Christmas decor by Shutter Field and the newest trees by Little Branch, so check out the details below.

I think it just might be symbolic of changing the landscape from one season to another.

Fly away with me

I was sitting in-world while doing the usual googling and reading news, emails and blogs when a dream I had several days ago came to mind and prompted this picture. You see the dream left me puzzled, which is probably why it’s coming to mind now plus the fact I’m having some bad days lately.

It wasn’t a bad dream or anything, it was simply one of me flying. I can’t begin to tell you the number of dreams I’ve had of being on a bus or inside a school or shower and bathroom dreams. Over the years I came to understand how dreams were speaking to me and learned to give them my own interpretation.

These days I rarely give them any thought beyond having a brief moment of recollection upon waking up. This one was different, because in all my years of having dreams I cannot recall ever once dreaming of flying and flying dreams are quite common. I think what makes it even more puzzling and sticks out in my memory is that as the dream changed into something else I was dreaming of my father.

Looking up dreams of flying the interpretations vary across the board, but they all have a particular theme that flying dreams are usually positive. As they represent a desire to be free, or rising above a situation, a person or a conflict, which is applicable to a few situations in my life right now. The negative side is if you’re running into things then it can represent obstacles to being free. I wasn’t bumping into things, it was more that I was looking for something to bump into to bring me back down as I continued to climb.

I don’t feel very in tune with myself these days to give it my own interpretation, but I like the interpretation that the bad cloud is lifting and that perhaps I’m about to get freedom from something, someone or just troubles in general.
