Seems like events are happening much quicker or it may be that I’m not trying to get there when they first open. Instead I’m visiting mid through the event or days before it’s over and by then the new one is up within days. The new round of The Liaison Collaborative just started and it’s geared toward the men this time with the Gentlemen’s Club theme. I’m showing the newest creation by Kuro. The Richard sofa and table come in two tones, life and bold and full of animations for single, couple and then the adult ones for the adult set. Just like a girl I threw in my sneakers and my golfing bag to give the place a bit of a feminine presence. I showed you the trees that Little Branch had at this round in my post yesterday, but they also have potted plants like this green one I’m showing.

Jian for Home Show

This is a bit of a long post, though somewhat very therapeutic for me as this was not one of my best weeks and ended yesterday in not a very pleasant way. Though today is a new day and I look forward to just relaxing this whole weekend.

There is a new store called Jian coming to the grid, even though the creator behind it is not new and many know her work as a mesh artist under the brand of Dsyfunctional Designs. The sister store will be on the same sim as Dysfunctional and while it is now open to the public it will have its grand opening on June 1st. The creator has already made good on her renewed commitment to bring high quality mesh goods with low impact in geometry, textures and script time with their items at the Home Show 2015.

The first item that I want to mention is the ash trees. The new system that Jian is utilizing works exclusively with their products and Jian foliage. It’s such an easy system. You rezz your trees and attach the HUD and click it. There will be several options that you will be able to choose to work with the products… by season (spring, summer, autumn and winter), product or individual items. The last is quite handy when you want to individualize and give it that personal touch by changing each tree with its own season, the leaves and bark. I have a mixture of the spring, summer and autumn trees in this picture.

The next item is the bird bath that also can be customized with a texture choice menu that has 12 textures for you to choose from.

The last item that I want to point out is the hanging lanterns that too can be customized by just clicking on them. You will be able to change the texture as well as make a choice for the lights being on, off or set to day cycle based on the sim daylight settings.

As always with script items, make sure you work with a copy and keep a spare in your inventory in case something goes haywire. Then when you’re all done getting it exactly how you want it then you have the option to also delete the script so that it can reduce potential lag that scripts sometimes can create. I know that whenever I have landscaped with lots of greenery, grass always seems to create lag for me and I have to make sure and delete scripts once I get everything looking exactly as I like.

The remaining items being shown are from various creators that participated in the just finished round of TAG! Gacha. I don’t know if the machines will be available at the stores now that the event is over, but if they are and you get a mystery coupon you will not be able to claim those as that redemption location is now closed.

Whose lifting who?

It’s very rare that I will feel hungry in the morning. I try to at least eat something minimal and it’s usually a piece of fruit if nothing else. Today I wanted something more and didn’t have the time to really make something so I decided to go through a drive-through of a popular fast food chain for a breakfast sandwich. They were out of the muffin bread of the sandwich I chose and straws. I am hoping it’s not indicative of how the rest of my day goes as today I’m playing nice with all of my four bosses.

I don’t know where I was going with this picture when I started to open and put down items received when I randomly played machines in this round of TAG! Gacha. There were only a handful of stores that I really wanted to play and the others I played at random once or not at all. I find this event to be like a little mini arcade except you go to each store to hit the machines. Though what I truly like about this event is the HUD system that you can spin to get to the next destination. It made going around to each store so much easier.

One of the rare items, not shown here, that I played for is actually all items for men. Everything except the weights reminded me of those wrestler shows that my brothers used to watch when we were growing up. I think somewhere in a box of old pictures I have an autographed photo of some wrestler from a non-sporting event that I attended. It’s been so long ago that I can’t remember exactly when or the name of the wrestler right now. I do have a vague recollection of the picture itself as the wrestler is in jeans with no shirt and flexing his big muscles.

“Between our laughs, long talks, stupid fights and jokes… I fell in love.”

I don’t know about the rest of you, but this week so far has been down and out crazy. I feel pulled in every direction and the frustration level that I see in others and myself too is at an all-time high. It feels like all I’ve done since Monday is put out fires, and today I have a headache that won’t quit. It’s no wonder we escape sometimes, even if our realities remain.

By now I’m sure you’ve seen these star of fame wall frames with different awards such as best friend, wife, hag, husband, boyfriend, girlfriend, designer and a whole list of others found at the arcade. They are very cute frames and can create that fun atmosphere as they’re meant to, when proudly displayed or given as gifts to that person you’re honoring with that title of being the best of something.

I’m proudly showing off my fame as best girlfriend, and even though I gave it to myself it doesn’t lessen its impact. Darn right. I earned this title; just ask my ex (spoken tongue-in-cheek).

Funny note aside I had a bit of a revelation the other week when I was watching the movie Jerry Maguire that aired in 1996. Jerry is played by actor Tom Cruise, which is about a sports agent that gets fired and then starts his own management firm with a sole client, Rod Tidwell, played by actor Cuba Gooding, Jr. There is a particular scene where a frustrated Jerry is telling Rod, who has a bit of an attitude, that he needs to go back to being the guy who first started playing the game, like when he was kid. The conversation doesn’t go well and an irritated Jerry leaves and as Rod watches him go he yells at him, “See, man, that’s the difference between us. You think we’re fighting, I think we’re finally talking!”

That particular scene was a bit of an eye opener as I thought back on previous encounters and made me reflect that I’m more like a Jerry and how this might have contributed to communication breakdowns. It’s given me something to ponder on as I think of how quickly I can shut down when overwhelmed with high emotions.

My goodness. Maybe I should send my ex the best boyfriend award.

The weekend was over much too quick and it seems the days are going much faster since the time switched or my body clock just needs a few more days to adjust. I popped into SL late last night to get this shot in to post today, having interrupted my ongoing rhythm of blogging daily over the weekend. It’s alright, it wasn’t a goal or anything. I find blogging helps keep my mind occupied and that in itself helps me relax, plus its fun dressing up and creating scenes and even more fun sharing.

St. Patrick’s holiday is right around the corner and when I think of a celebration it conjures up Irish dancing, music, shamrocks, wearing green and drinking Guinness. Aphrodite Shops wants to help you celebrate as well with this Irish Pub that comes equipped with 20 animations and 18 props, with many drink dispensers and St. Patrick’s decor. It also includes one of my favorite features in furniture today, and that is having the option and choice to change the wood, fabric and metal. Watch the video to see many of the animations that it contains to give you the ultimate role-play experience.

Speaking of role-play… poised with finger on the trigger… can I pass as a bond girl?

Contemplates her choices.

I mentioned yesterday that if there is something I really like and want that I will spend the lindens for it. Though in most cases I might give it some thought before succumbing to that little voice that whispers in my ear get it now. Though with so many events and creators producing new releases at a record speed not to mention the quality of mesh being even better these days, lets face it we’re spoiled for choice if not lindens. I am sort of laughing as I think about gachas and I should have put a disclaimer that this does not apply to those gawd awful machines, especially the ones that don’t want to cooperate with you for that item you want. If you get down to adding the cost for all those pulls on the machine… we pay a small fortune for an item we might not have otherwise spent full price on it at the store. Guilty.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve also noticed that the price of stuff in Second Life has slowly been creeping up. No, I’m not about to go on a rant about this subject. I think the choice of what we buy and are willing to pay for items is a personal choice. It’s just an observation and it came to mind as I sat here writing this and thought of my waffling back and forth on purchasing a mesh body.

Given that 50% of the time when I am out shopping or anywhere on the grid I see all these mesh body parts all over the place it’s not the best incentive for me to want to have one. I realize that’s probably due to my internet speed more than anything and the rest of you don’t see the same. As for pros and cons there wasn’t much of an imbalance for me. The creator of my signature skin hasn’t released an applier for it, though it’s in the works to be released soon. It basically just boiled down to whether I wanted to fork over the lindens. Then recalling that I had not properly spent the lindens that a friend gave me for Christmas and knowing his inclination of always improving yourself. It was an easy decision to splurge using his gift of lindens to better myself.
