The PackUP Home

Painting Italiano 1

I’m showing the newest home by The [Den.], called the PackUp, that has a land impact of 18 and is full mesh with functional doors on three sides.  The interesting thing about the building is the clickable decks that raise up to give you that added privacy.  It was a result of all the windows and decks that I thought to put it out at sea with a deck leading back to land.

Painting Italiano 2

As you can see it can also be used in other ways other than just a home.  Being a painter in real life, even though it’s been ages since I last picked up a paint brush, I am still drawn to painting accessories whenever I see them in-world.

Painting the EL Italiano

I was painting my favorite subject, except Draco sort of took over… as always. Chuckles.

Me thinks someone forgot to cut the grass.

Mommy forgot she was cutting grass 096

The little me has taken on a new commitment to blog a few things each month for an event that features items for the  toddleeDoo given that I already do posts featuring items for this size. I did consider maybe creating a separate blog, though for now I am going to incorporate them with my regular posts.

The event is “All The Little Things” and the newest round is right around the corner starting on April 5th.  I’m showing this cute little unicorn bag and the fluffy plush unicorn that is hanging next to me by Little Llama.

Until the cows come home.

Cows Come Home 025

This picture really represents my desire just to be able to sleep.  I had high hopes of sleeping in this morning, when the neighbor’s car alarm went off at 6:30 a.m. and so after that wake up I drifted off only for my phone alarm to go off an hour later.  Guess it was a sign to wake up.

My big pixels have no trouble finding rest as you can see, while the little me wants to play.   These Bessie the Cows are from Dysfunctional Designs and are available at the Fantasy Collective.  There are two versions, the static grazing cows and one with poses and there are several texture choices for the cows.

I’m off to do some real shopping, so everyone have a fabulous Saturday!

The Yearbook Challenge

Yearbook Photo

I decided to jump in and do the yearbook challenge, not only because I like challenges but I’m also feeling like total crap.   There is a flu virus running rampant and it’s making its round with my family, so it’s my turn.  Even if I felt slightly better yesterday, today it seems like I’m even worse… though hopefully it’s just my delusional state of chucking down enough nyquil cold medicine to get a decent night of rest.  That stuff is pretty lethal if you ask me.

Anyways, because I am tired of laying down and I wanted to do something anything to ignore my down on the  dumps mood I thought it be fun to do this challenge.  To participate yourself here are the Meme instructions: Share an image of your Second Life avatar smiling for a yearbook photo. Don’t forget to share the link to your post in the comments and add your pictures to the new Second Life Yearbook flickr group, you can also share them in the Blog Memes flickr group if you like.

Though lookie here … a pixel beauty in the making.

Cinco De Mayo

Today in some areas of Mexico and here in America, Cinco De Mayo, is celebrated as an important victory for the Mexican Army over the occupying French Army.  The victory became known as the Battle of Puebla, which took place on May 5, 1862 near the city of Puebla, Mexico.   This Mexican holiday is often confused with Mexican Independence Day, which is September 16th, that celebrates Mexico’s freedom from Colonial Spain.

Snapshot_058

For those of Mexican descent it is a day to be proud.  For others it is a popular holiday to celebrate, as it involves having a fiesta with Mexican food and drinking coronas.

In honor of the holiday I thought that wearing my charro costume would be fitting.

Charro is considered a traditional horseman from Mexico, specifically in the central-western regions of the country and not the same as a typical cowboy or rancher.  The charro costume also became more popular when it became the common outfit for people who sing Mariachi music. This is a type of folk music from Mexico, where men and women play string instruments.

The particular costume dress I am wearing is called “Cielito Lindo,” which translates “Lovely Sweet One” and is a very popular song from Mexico that is played by many Mariachi bands.  I have very fond memories of this song, as my father sang it when I was growing up.

So happy Cinco De Mayo everyone!
