Rustic Christmas

Morning everyone. It’s a good day despite some minor annoyance this morning, though I speak for a better day. It’s all about attitude so I’m definitely working on that personally. Today I’m bringing a bit of rustic to our lives. I might have spoken about this before in years past, but my family and I get into theme decorating each year. This year we all sort of reverted to the traditional classical Christmas colors. Though one of my favorite themes is rustic country and I’ve collected quite a bit of ornaments and decor surrounding that particular setting. Though honestly I really love all themes and the real joy comes from being able to create beautiful displays that bring smiles and happiness and well honestly they serve as great backdrops for family photos… we’re vain like that. Laughs.

So while I didn’t have much time to go digging into my inventory to do something a little more with this scene I hope it still inspires you in creating your own wonderful themed Christmas. If you want a little rustic, then visit all the wonderful creators below to grab some of their amazing works.

Pueblo Maravilla

Most of you know who have been following me for a while now might know from my ramblings that I have a Mexican heritage. My mother was from Mexico, but she’s been here since she was a child and married my father born in this country as well as my siblings and me. We have a bit of a laugh each time we think about it as each of us were born in different parts of the country. From the far west coast in the state of Washington to the southern part of Texas and the eastern coast of the Carolinas and that’s just three of us! I think the only place they left untouched was the north eastern part.

I wholeheartedly embrace both cultures and read and speak both languages and write only minimal Spanish. The part that often takes people by surprise and only makes my family poke fun at me is that I don’t eat a lot of Mexican food. I am not talking about the more commercialized foods like tacos and enchiladas — it’s more like ‘fideo con pollo‘ or ‘frijoles a la charra‘ that while I can eat it my taste buds would prefer not to. It’s like anything else some things you like others you don’t.

So when I saw this Pueblo Viejo gacha set by unKindness for the Epiphany I was really looking forward to putting together a scene as it felt like there was an affinity to it. It made me remember some of my trips into Mexico through the border towns of Tijuana from trips to San Diego and Reynosa from a trip to Texas. While those places didn’t look so much like this it had remnants of this.

I hope you enjoy my little set and all the pieces have varying land impact from 1 to 34 for the rare church.

The scent and touch of childhood memories

Today I’m showing the Victorian Doll House by Pillows, which you caught a peek of the inside with my post yesterday. It runs about 36 for land impact and it’s available in both a light and dark version and can be found at Draftsman.

The texturing of the house on the outside reminds me a little of my paternal grandmother’s home when I was growing up and we visited her home in Washington state. It didn’t have a porch like this one, but did have some steps going from the front door. Her landscaping was always so pretty and there was always rose bushes of different colors, as she loved roses. I didn’t use any here, but I added some violet poppies to give it a little color.

Some people stay in your thoughts forever

Happy Black Friday! One of the biggest sales event days of the year. I stopped doing that kind of craziness a few years ago. It was more the thrill of going out with my sisters then catching any real savings and usually it was to grab some new popular toy or game for the kids in our family. Now those kids are all grown and our desire has waned as Black Friday has really been distorted and moved more to Thursday than the actual Friday. Though if you enjoy it.. have fun and keep safe!

It’s also great we can catch some savings here in Second Life with Black Friday sales going on. Though it’s also the perfect time to get to some ongoing events while everyone is trying to get into busy sims. Today I am featuring the new Hanover Barn by Galland Homes that is available at the Draftsman Event. It’s a good size barn with an approximate footprint of 17 meters wide by 23 meters deep. The creator of Galland Homes writes that the barn is indicative of the large timber and stone farms found through his home state of Pennsylvania. It’s 100% mesh with a land impact of 72 and a snow add on that is available as well.

The other home decor being featured is the odres by Sweet Kajira, which are wine skins made of leather, usually goat, that are used to contain liquids like wine or oil. These here are available at the Fantasy Gacha Carnival. I’m also showing the tree stump with reclining raccoon by JIAN available at the main store. It’s animated and season change texture too. The fence I’m leaning against is by Pixel Mode and at The Liaison Collaborative. It’s available as a non animated version or pg and adult as well. The trees are by Little Branch, with the Red Bradford {trees on left and right} at Shiny Shabby and the Maple Wood {tree in middle} at the Ultra Event.

Lastly, I’m am showing a new hair release by Wasabi Pills that is available at The Forest Event. Previously you could only grab this hair if you paid the membership on a monthly basis to grab all the gifts. That has changed and now you can purchase items individually. I encourage you to go to The Forest web page to read more on this exciting change. The boots are from Fame Femme and are at The Liaison Collaborative. You can find these in eight color options and each include a hud to change the color of the socks.

La Casa Del Pueblo

Happy Friday! Even though I got my days all confused yesterday evening when I hit my bed early and thinking it was Friday instead of Thursday. I needed a good sleep to clear my head that’s for sure.

As I mentioned yesterday today I’m featuring the newest gacha set by Ionic called La Casa Del Pueblo.

The gacha set has 12 commons and 1 rare, which is the house that has a land impact of 79. The rest have an impact of 2 up to a range of 8 if I’m not mistaken. I really love this set for many reasons.

The first is the flan. I absolutely love flan in real life and could have it almost at any time. This and creme brulee are like my top favorites of desserts. The details and realness of the items is just fabulous. Then they evoke such good memories of times spent with family when I was young and surrounded by similar foods.

The last two pictures are just extra that I processed and decided to include them even though the previous ones gives you perhaps the better view of the items.
