Sweet Haven Cottage

Happy Monday! It’s a brand new day and a brand new month and a fresh round of events to look forward to.  Today FaMESHed opens up and I’m showing the latest creation by DaD Design.

The Sweet Haven Cottage is a nice one floor beach house with a land impact of 56 that has a separate modular deck that you can add to it.  All the windows in the house can be opened and it’s available in adult or pg version because of the pillows that have single and couple poses.

I was going to go with typical white on the exterior, because by clicking the light switch near the front door in the interior you get the menu to change the exterior. I opted to go with another color for something different, but if yellow isn’t your thing there are plenty of other color choices.

The makings of a simpler time and place

I love creating scenes that make me think of my childhood. I grew up in a rural area where we had places to roam free on our bikes and you just about knew every kid in the neighborhood.  Every house on both sides of the streets also had clotheslines with sheets or other clothes flapping in the wind. We had roosters that crowed every morning and we had the ice cream truck show up every afternoon almost every day.  A simpler time and place indeed. I miss those days.

Well it’s a fairly new month even though we just hit the one week mark and a new month always brings in a fresh round of events. The Men’s Department is one of them that just opened its doors a couple of days ago.  Most items are for men, which makes it a great place to shop for the men in your life.  Though from time to time they also have some fabulous home and garden decor like this set by Anhelo.

The garage is the highest in land impact at only 21 prims, with the others ranging from 1 to 6. Great details on everything and sure to make a great addition to your landscape. I’m also showing the newest tree by Little Branch. The magnolia is a beautiful addition to their line of trees to help your Spring decorating and available at this new new round of FaMESHed.

Backyard Garden

The last days have been sort of in the rushing mode for me as I’m posting right before I have to leave somewhere or as as I’m starting to close out for the night and have enough energy left just to post. Last night I discovered that I may have to go out of town again for a few days and I won’t have access to SecondLife.  I don’t particularly care to use a laptop for using SL  anyways, but this means I need to get as much done before Sunday.

Today I’m bringing some garden stuff from a few creators that I blog for.  The majority is from THOR, which is their Garden Life gacha set available now at The Gacha Guardians event.  There are 13 pieces, with 12 commons and 1 rare and then two gifts of the guardians.  Those are received when a player does 15 pulls on a single machine.  Visit their website for more information on this event, how to play and other exciting news.

I’m also showing items by [ETNIA], an original mesh/ ethnic interior decor store that I will be blogging for. They are participating in this round of Crossroads with a gardening set called the Cute Frida that includes a round gardening table, some decor pots and plants. You can’t miss them as one has the familiar trademark face of Frida and the floral long standing one on the round table is another. Stay tuned for some more creative designs from this store.

Little Branch is participating in this round of FaMESHed and while I’m not showing the actual tree they are releasing for this round in this post, I am showing some of the grasses that you can get with the purchase of their item at the event.

While I’m not in so much of a rush today I am hungry so that’s it for now. Oops.. I’m forgetting two things I wanted to mention.  The first is that Draftsman has an open photo contest for home and garden decor with a time travel theme that anyone can participate in.  The date is fairly close as you have only until April 7th, but still some time if you want to compete and win some awesome prizes.  Get the details here.  The other is that the 4th Annual Castle, Home & Garden Contest & Expo is seeking bloggers. Sitting waiting wishing

Just days away from one of the most popular events in Second Life, the Skin Fair, which is presented by Pale Girl Productions and Esode.  It is set to start on March 10th and will last until the 26th. I’m so excited to be showing you some previews in the coming days, both on this blog and my other blog Alexa’s Fantasy Wardrobe.

Today I am featuring a skin by Birth, which is not a skin maker that I was familiar until a recent gacha purchase.  Freya is available in 8 tones, with a browless option, or eyebrows in black, brown, blonde and red. There is a bento shape included and while appliers have been tailor made to fit Catwa’s ‘Catlyn’ bento mesh head, it can and works well with others as I am using it on Catwa Tumble.

I’m also featuring the tattoo by Arise, called the Joa, which comes with appliers for TMP, Belleza, Maitreya, Omega and layers for classic avatars. I’m also wearing a top and skirt by Scandalize, available now at Cosmopolitan.  I am really taking a liking to this creator’s designs as it fits my personal taste.

The last items being showcased are the landscape by Little Branch and pose used.  The Spring Winds trees in the background are at the current round of FaMESHed. The pose that I used was perfect to show both the skin and the tattoo, and it’s by Corpus and part of their Random Series 2 set and available at the upcoming round of The Liaison Collaborative that opens tomorrow on March 7th.

It’s a bit more on the land impact at 305, but the details on this are exceptional and make it worth the prims if you can spare it.

We were having another cold spell where temperatures dropped into the chilly 30 plus degrees last night and it made me sort of lazy to jump into Second Life even though it was my 6th Rez Day. Instead I snuggled under covers and read.  This meant I didn’t take any photos to blog and then when I attempted to log in today I found that they were doing maintenance so login was disabled for some.

In short, I finally made it in-world to put this scene together, process the photos and mark down credits, which I am leaving you to peruse as it’s close to dinner time.

The Devonshire Manor

The week off I took from blogging has been productive. I managed to shave off a little over 10,000 items in my inventory and organized my folders  as well.  I also tackled going through a couple of my received folders that contained items purchased off market place that probably date back to when I started.  Those crazy nights when I was bored and used my iPad to visit the market place and bought things I liked.  I loved finding all the landscape stuff I purchased that I didn’t remember having.

Anyways, it’s great to be back to blogging.  I actually started yesterday posting a picture to my other blog as I had an event that I am committed to that had already begun.  I have quite a few decor items to show in the coming days, but I thought to start with showing the latest home by DaD Design and some new landscape by Little Branch.

The Devonshire Manor is a beauty of a home and it’s huge in size with a footage of 36.8 x 30, and has a land impact of 268. I absolutely love the majestic look of the home from the outside and could visualize landscaping it in many ways. Though I opted to go for a cleaner look with a  narrow stream of water to run through as any body of water is always so peaceful.  I’ve included the creator details on the house below as well as their ad for inside of the house.

The trees by Little Branch are the single trees in the front of the home. The first starting from the bench side are the Wild Sassafras, V1 & V2 and then the next after the twisted is the Maple Forest and the last is Oak Wood. All the trees are seasonal, meaning that on click you can pick what season you want.  I kind of took advantage and used all of them on this post, but will probably use them again in outdoor posts.

“DEVONSHIRE MANOR” Is a beautiful family house. The style of the house the style of the houses that we usually find in some parts of England. Big windows that let in the light on foggy days of winter. A graceful, central staircase welcomes you inside with some libraries built on the sides. Two beautiful living room on the right, and on the left welcome you in and they are designed as a potential single spacious lounge. You can enter the kitchen from the main living room. Upstairs 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms.

The master bedroom has a second room which can be used as a study or a private bathroom. The two other bedroom have a common bathroom which can be easily accessed from them. The windows of the whole house can be opened and have been arranged openings of different heights to create the most natural look possible.
