Everyday Life in Medieval Second Life.

I had a bit of fun doing up these photos to show you the newest creation by Dysfunctional Designs.  It is a medieval style castle skybox that is 133 prims rezzed and is extremely spacious with a three room layout. It has a built in waterfall cascade pool and courtyard garden space.   While I didn’t attempt this… you can re-texture it as well and the wall torches can be copied.   The stallion gallantly showed up, but I’m still waiting for my knight in shining armor to arrive and sweep me off my feet.

The waterfall is one of the lovely parts of this build and just to note the streams of light coming in through the windows is not part of the build.  I would encourage you to visit the demo that is set up at the event site so you can see the color, textures and quality of the skybox.

I was going to attempt to decorate a bedroom, except it would have taken a bit of digging in my inventory to find the right pieces of furniture and so the food won out.

It’s the weekend and another busy day for me tomorrow, so in case I don’t get a chance to post anything everyone have a fabulous Saturday!

I tried something a little different and that is using a texture as a background and then just added some light in a couple of places.  I much prefer setting up a scene or going on location though using this method can be useful at times.

I’m thinking of my feisty 81 year old grandmother who killed a 4 foot snake in the garage with the end of a bat the other day when I wrote my title for this blog post.   She’s formidable and I hope that if I get to reach her age in this life time that I am just as gutsy as she is.  She did the dirty deed and I got to do clean up, picking up the still slithering snake and dump it into the lake behind the house.   You could say that’s one of the disadvantages of living in Florida and near water.   Not to mention impatient women who will take matters into their own hands when it comes to protecting their own.

I was contemplating earlier whether I missed blogging or not and it was sort of in the middle. When I think back on why I originally started to blog over a year ago it was just to use it as a vehicle to take up my interest in writing and also document my time in Second Life.  It was a novel idea, with no forethought as to what I would share — given that I rarely did much more than hang out at music venues and decorated a new house every few weeks with the occasional hanging out with a few friends.

Today, my inner circle of friends can be practically counted in one hand and honestly I prefer it this way.   Gone are the days of listening to music and actively exploring in Second Life.   It’s a toss up if those things would hold my interest again for long and yet they can be dumped into the cyclical category.  Though stepping away from SL even if just a few days both physically and mentally has helped me tremendously regain some perspective and given me the motivation to move forward once again.

With that said I’m showcasing here some stuff from the current round of events that are happening on the grid.  I’ve become quite a fanatic of these fantasy role-play outfits that perhaps I should consider taking up some kind of role-play.

Love Tester

Ever have those moments when you feel like an idiot?  Today I tripped over a box full of reports that was near my desk and the fall wasn’t a soft one.  I was in the outer office grabbing my mail from my inbox and there were several large envelopes that obscured my vision when I walked back in to my office to go to my desk.  Having dressed up a little more formal for a board meeting that afternoon with 2.5 inch heels — it didn’t help in breaking my fall.  I landed hard on my right knee that is now bruised and swollen.  My left shoulder hit the credenza that also sports a bruise and is swollen.  My mouth hit the floor and I’m just thankful that besides a slight tinge of feeling I don’t have busted lips on top of the rest.

After the impact I tried to raise up and had no strength in my limbs to rise.  I managed to turn around and sit on my arse until I felt somewhat resourceful again to rise up towards my chair.   I could have called someone obviously, the phone was just a couple feet away.  Though, I felt like such an idiot falling that I just waited it out and luckily no one walked in to see me sitting on the floor.

So that was my crazy day.  I took these pictures last night and you could say my luck wasn’t holding out then either – with hitting a mild on my sexual appeal.
