The May round of Perfect 10 is already on going as it started on the 1st and will run through the 15th. Though if you have not made it there yet, this furniture decor set by Finishing Touches can be found at the event. It’s in soft spring colors of pink, yellow, green and white. Personally, it’s a very cheerful set that makes you feel all bright and happy and those macaroons are delicious just looking at them.

My little owl friend just fit in perfect with this set and provided me with some amusement as I tried all the animations. It’s a great decor item for any child’s room and not to mention the fun it brings.

Little me is wearing this pretty headband and earrings by Buglets that are available now at the Hello Beautiful event. The headbands come in various colors as well as the earrings, which are gacha.

21Shoe is right around the corner in a few days with some more fabulous shoes this month. For those of you who may not be familiar with this event, it is a monthly event where you can get exclusive shoes never to be sold again. What makes it even more exciting is that you get two for the price of one. I’m showing the “Los Angeles” shoes from Essenz that are made to fit the Slink and Maitreya high feet.

The shoes are yellow and peach and will also come with a HUD to change the sole and metal colors. Make sure to check out the website to see the other great shoes that will be available only on the one day of the event, which is always on the 21st of the month. Plus if you join the group you can get all the news and also group gifts. All the shoes can be purchased at the store location for those participating in this round.

I am also featuring these new mesh sunflower field plants from Little Branch that you can find at this month’s Liaisaon Collaborative. They are super realistic and great for photos and doing up your landscape. I’m am wearing this lotus headband also from Little Branch, that if you click brings up the menu to change colors. You can find it tomorrow at the newest round of Shiny Shabby.

I am also wearing this nicely made blouse and skirt from NYU that is part of the Wayward Hunt that just started. The swing from Pixel Mode has several poses and is also a gift for the Wayward Hunt. Lots of great stuff from some of the very well known creators in SecondLife.

There is a new event on the grid called the Shiny Shabby, which will be vintage themed and will open on the 20th of each month and close on the 15th of the following month. [ARIA] is participating with this vintage mini office set called “Vesna” that consists of the desk, chair, tea cup and flowers in a can. I went with the white version, but the desk comes with 7 texture choices for the wood, the chair comes with 7 fabric choices and the tulips comes with 9 options for the flowers. The set is available either in PG or adult and you can purchase the items as a set or individual pieces. I particularly liked the animations with the chair that allow for female and male sits, activities like writing, eating and cuddles plus many more.

I’m not sure how I missed seeing these toys from Dysfunctional Designs when I made my trip to this round of We ❤ Role-Play event. I have very fond memories of playing jacks as a child and besides marbles this was probably the next best thing!

This round of Shiny Shabby will open tomorrow at 12 SLT.

[ARIA] at The Men’s Dept.

It’s the first days of the month and that always signals the newest rounds of ongoing events. That means that in a couple of days the next round of The Men’s Department is opening up and [ARIA] has a new mini bedroom set called “Aidan” that includes a bed that will be available in both PG or adult, a side table and table light. The bed has single and couple animations with rezzable and auto attach props and as always you can find texture change options to suit your color palette with both the bed and the table light. The event starts on the 5th of January and this bedroom set will be heavily reduced just for the event.

I used the retreat home by The [Den.] that I featured the day before and also some of the living room set that I also blogged in the last few days from [ARIA]. Both of these sets can be found at the newest round of Uber. While not extremely noticeable in the pictures though used as a background are the 4-season trees by Sweet Revolutions that are available for 30L Saturday today. They are no copy, but a great bargain nonetheless. If you want another bargain and like ancient things, the Egyptian statue with a side plant can be found at Storax Tree for only 10L.

Winter Home Retreat

I hope everyone had a fantastic time bringing in the New Year and hopefully still enjoying some down time. Mine was great and I have a few more days before having to haul myself back to work and everything once again returns to a bit of normalcy. Even though the Christmas holiday is pretty much over the winter months are not gone and what a perfect way to settle down here in your Second Life then perhaps getting away to a comfy little retreat home, which I am featuring today.

This is a lovely open space 15 x 15 mesh home made by The [Den.] with a land impact of 35 that comes with a built in fireplace and chandelier. It is now available for purchase at this month’s round of Uber where you’re bound to find some other fabulous stuff.

My first two pictures show it as I envisioned it decorated for myself though with this big of space the possibilities are endless. The last two pictures are just two close ups showing the building by itself.

What’s that rumble?

I was going for the surprised shocked look of a child hearing the rumble coming through the fireplace except that due to a malfunction of sorts the Emoter HUD got stuck on two emotions at the same time and gave me this smile shocked expression instead. This is why I have instead an impatient fearless child that anticipates Santa is about to arrive.

Some of the creators that participated at The Arcade during this round were very generous with their gifts that you can find under the large Christmas tree that sits in the middle of the Arcade. Two of my favorite items were the milk and chocolate milk bottles and the plate of ginger pig cookies, which is just like one of our Mexican pastries that looks exactly the same just a bit thicker. They are called “Marranitos,” which translated means little piggies.

Two-for-one shoes.

Coming soon is the new round of the 21Shoe, a monthly event that happens on the 21st of each month that gives us shoe lovers a two-for-one bargain on new and exclusive shoes. I’m showing off the shoes that HopScotch will have for this November round. The red/gold shoes I’m wearing are called Capture and are designed to fit the SLink medium feet. The second pair of shoes near the table are purple with an orange lining named Sidney, and also made to fit the medium mesh feet by SLink.

You can check out the 21Shoe website as the 21st approaches to take a look at the other shoes that will be available during this round. All the shoes can be found at the main stores and you can also grab the slurls from the website. The other thing about this event is that it only lasts 24 hours, from 12:01 am SLT on the 21st of each month.

You could say I’m doing a two-for-one post today. So this is what happens when you’re still half asleep. I’m wearing the two shoes from *YS&YS* that will be sold also on the 21st. The Tivoli a smooth crocodile black and the Latina open toe in beige. The shoes are made to be used with SLink high feet and you will get two versions of the shoes — one with “sock” in the name that are made to be used when you want to apply socks to your feet.

Remember the shoes are only available for 24-hours from 12:01 am SLT on the 21st of November.

Lesson 51: The Love You Need

We all yearn for different expressions of love at different times in our lives. Sometimes we need acceptance and gentleness; at other times we crave passion and adventure. And although we often look to others to give us the love we need, the highest act of self-love is to learn how to give it to ourselves.

When we take the time to listen to the desires of our hearts, we nurture ourselves from the inside out. By giving ourselves the love we need, we no longer look to others to complete us.

Your Self-Love Assignment

For the next five days, take some time each morning to connect with yourself. Close your eyes and take a few breaths into the area around your heart. As you breathe in, notice any feelings or emotions that are present. Then ask yourself, “What is the love I need right now?” Is it acceptance? Gentleness? Acknowledgment? Respect? Rest? Appreciation?

As you hear the kind of love your heart is longing for, take five more minutes to shower yourself in that type of love.

Give yourself 100 points every time you give yourself the love you need.

I really love my cozy kitchen. It took modifying some of the items and making them smaller to fit in the space, but overall I really liked the way it came out.
