Sometimes life rewards you with the unexpected

I’m a bit wired after spending the last six hours at the hospital and while I should have gone straight to bed I find myself unable to sleep. I really had planned to get this post done earlier before the unexpected change in plans. I’m also not certain if I will get around to doing anymore posts outside of what I may already have completed. In any case I plan to keep this one short.

The hair that I’m wearing is by eXeEsS and like all her hairs they just seem to have a natural feel to them. It’s available at the main store. The other item is the wreath that is wrapped around me. It’s by Dysfunctional Designs and also available at the main store. It’s only 1 prim and if you’ve already done all the decorating you can handle another great way to use it is like a picture frame for taking a funny picture like everyone does in real life.

Last Christmas

As I was going through the poses on this chair, which are a few for activities and sleep I settled on this one as it sort of fit my contemplative mood. Gazing at the beautiful tree I thought of how different my last Christmas is to this year. I don’t bemoan material things as those have never been that important to me. No, I grieve the loss of people that were in my life then who no longer are.

For some reason I think this could be my last Christmas in Second Life. I don’t know what the future brings obviously, it’s just more or less a thought that funneled through my mind right now. On January 8th, I will have been in Second Life for 5 years, which in my book is a pretty long time.

That day is also very significant. It was the same date of January 8th two years ago, that I also met someone who came to be a very important part of my life. I miss that period in my life, where everyday was more carefree and not as heavy. I miss him too. My Christmas wish for him is always that he find peace, happiness and joy.

I’m thankful for many things, but today I’m just thankful for even the cool weather that has me shivering from cold.

Sometimes I have so much to say and other days like now I sit here waiting for the words to flow and nothing comes out. It’s not like my mind is totally blank. In fact my mind is racing with too many thoughts floating around in there… like what do I need to get done today to where did this year go? It will be dad’s birthday in a few days and I’m no longer near to take flowers to his grave site.

Then there is a ping beside me letting me know there is a text on my phone and a good reminder to get out of my thoughts.

I was in a bit of a lazy mood last night preferring to go out and enjoy Second Life for once instead of trying to get my blogs for this week prepared. I did manage to do a couple of photos to get my week started.

This is a bit of the rebellious nature I find myself in shining through in this post as I share with you some more items to be found during this month’s round of events.

Both the fringe suede top and skirt by MoDANNA are mesh and found at two different ongoing events right now. There are several colors for both items and you will also find other styling pieces as well so that you can tailor fit your style.

The stalker

I’m doing another male post in my male series and as you can see I am easily amused. I usually don’t have any prearranged thoughts of what I will end up doing when I log in other than I mainly go in-world these days to put something together to blog. I know it sounds a bit boring. Though I can’t say I find myself bored. It’s about the right amount of stimulation that I need to keep me busy and focused as I filter through what’s on my mind and I begin to relax leaving behind the day. It’s only when I’m restless beyond a certain point that I end up searching for something more to appease the mood.

Saying that I have begun to start to venture out a little more to take in some of the SL scenery. I’ve been seeing some great pictures of locations in-world on Flickr that I would love to go visit. The problem for me is that I’m starting to rez everywhere in a world of grey again, it makes the experience not so pleasant to want to do it again and again.

This night I began like usual by putting out recent purchases and moving them around and that’s how a scene starts to develop. With this particular scene I had placed out several of the cute beach huts in varying colors by Trompe Loeil, which are now at Collabor88. I know you can’t see the actual build, but worth checking out and a bargain at 88L. As I saw them side by side the idea hit of having a guy scoping out the girl with binoculars. Though as you can see things don’t always end the way you begin. The pose sort of set the tone on this one.

The Arcade is open and if you’ve been trying to get in I hope you were successful. I heard there were lots of people whining of not being able to gain access even using their hud attachments to try and get in. Some literally doing it for hours.

I am wearing one of the rare items from Every Pixel is Art (Epia). The Egyptian princess necklace comes in a pink gold and is one of the 20 necklaces that can be won for this round of gacha goodness. It’s such a beautiful piece as many of the others in the set, which I hope to show you some more of.

I am also showing another awesome landscaping tree that Little Branch has released for this round of FaMESHed.

There is a new event that opens today that is catering to the men of SecondLife, it’s named The Arena. It will target the medieval, fantasy and the role-play genre and the event will take place on a quarterly basis with the first event opening today. [MeshedUP] is participating in this round with these goggles and flask that came in various colors. I’m wearing the female version and like a lot of products in SecondLife you will find that many items are either made unisex or can still be worn by females with some adjustments.

I sort of splurged on grabbing this limited edition bike, because it looked really cool and it also brought up some good memories.

We’re all waiting for the ~~bride and~~ groom to show up. My sissy is getting married… again. Chuckles… she might disinherit me for that comment, though isn’t this what siblings do? Poke fun. So what if you’ve only done this… a ~~few~~ couple times.

Well someone has to get the party started!

Except reality is that time zones are a hindrance… and the wedding took place in the wee hours of the morning while my head still knew the softness of my pillows.

Congrats on your wedding sis!!! I know you’ve been waiting for this day since forever and all joking aside I’m happy for you. May he make your Second Life total bliss…fulfilling all your dreams… well you get the drift. 😛

Synchronicity.

Every so often I have one of those days where I have what some may call uncanny coincidences, signs or starting occurrences or just synchronicity. Like those moments when you think or dream of someone you haven’t talked to in years and suddenly you hear about them through others or run into them somewhere. I had such a day yesterday, where it seemed the word “Italian” was being thrust at me.

It started when I was waiting in my car for the doors to open back up from the lunch hour at the doctor’s office. I have an ear infection. I looked across at a nearby vehicle that had a license plate in front and the word Italian in big bold letters. I didn’t think much of it other than it did make me smile as I thought of a particular person of Italian heritage. The doors open so I go in and sign up and go to the waiting room and during that time three people walk in and one of the individuals has a t-shirt with the words in big bold print 100% Italian. That made me chuckle not so much that I thought anything then, just that again it reminded me of the same person who inherently defined that statement.

The man spoke in English without much of an accent and it broke the whole illusion. I get home and check my email and the first one staring at me has the subject, “The Italian Job…. “ an invitation to attend an event being promoted by Miami City Social. There were a couple more occurrences like this, though you get the drift.

In honor of a 100% Italiano, who once asked me if I were the kind of person who saw the glass half full. That when my response was that I always saw my cup over flowing, he replied, “well…I’d simply say…”What’s up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don’t think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!”
