Stand tall and be strong

Over the summer I took a trip to Texas as I was contemplating on moving there at the time.  I traveled with all women that are members of my immeidate family visiting various cities.  While at each city we took in the local attractions and in San Antonio one of the places we visited was the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch, where you get to drive through acres of what their web site describes as “rolling hills, creek beds, and magnificent live oak trees and witness the behavior of over 500 animals from 40 exotic, native and endangered animal species worldwide.” 

I can certainly attest to seeing a lot of animals that literally came up to your car as you drove through at a slow pace.  Unfortunately, during the time we traveled that part of the nation was experiencing heavy rains and the roads where the giraffes were housed and roamed were flooded.  My niece loves these tall and regal looking animals and I do also. Though to compensate they had moved a few giraffes to the front of the ranch in an enclosed area where you could walk to and see them up close.  This was one of the best highlights of our trip as we really had an enjoyable time seeing all the animals and we laughed so hard during our time there that it will always be a pleasant memory for all of us to cherish as we bonded even closer then.

So that when I saw this nicely done woodlance fence set from .peaches., which is their release for the Draftsman Event that starts tomorrow I thought of using giraffes, which then made me remember our trip.  The fence ranges in land impact from 1 to 12 for the arch with the gate.  I will be showing more items from this event in the coming days.

My hair and clothes are from this round of Tres Chic with the hair with fedora being by Beusy and sweater top and suede lace-up shorts or hotpants as named by Petite Mort.  It’s not often that I go outside my natural tones when it comes to wearing hairs, but I felt like something different today so I chose the special colors to wear. I thought it looked really pretty and vibrant.

The outfit is mesh body compatible and is also available in several different colors; 5 for the hotpants and 10 for the tops. They fit perfectly with my maitreya mesh body and to complement the outfit I am wearing the newest thigh high heels by Empire called Weigela that are available at this new round of Kustom9.  The pose is another great one by K&S Poses, which is a continuing one of their Katya sets.

Doing a late post today as I posted to my other blog this morning.  I’ll probably be doing double posts either on the same blog or vice versa like today, one on each. That’s because this month is a bit busier with the unexpected Fantasy Gacha Carnival event taking place.  It had been announced in the group some time back that the last one in August would be the last of that quarterly fantasy event. Apparently that wasn’t the case for now and so it means maybe doing one or two posts a day until things are back to my normal pace with just main store and ongoing monthly events.

I am showing the water wheel mill by Mushilu at We ❤ Role-Play.  This is available in three colors; the blue version as shown and then a red and green one.

It’s starting to get a bit cooler

I’m not sure that I’m quite ready for the winter season just yet.  I’m still in awe of the beautiful colors of Autumn, even though here in real life I am starting to feel the changes in the temperature.  It’s much cooler in the mornings and the evenings, so very soon I’m going to have to change out my wardrobe from sleeveless tops to sweaters.

I figured that instead of doing another fall scene that I would shoot for a winter one with this new home release by DaD Design called “The New Old Cabin.”  It’s known as a classic wooden cabin, which has a large patio front and a large main room with a screen that divides the area.It’s got a footage of 19.5x 11.1 and only a land impact of 44 without the snow.  If you add the snow then it increases by 20 and the snow add on is a separate purchase just so you know.  It’s currently available at 6 Republic.

I’m also showing some new trees by both Little Branch and Bee Designs, which are the ones in front of the house. The pine trees are by Bee Designs and available at the newest round of Cosmopolitan. There are two options available at the event, but I’m only featuring one set today. The trees range from 4 to 7 land impact.

The trees on the side of the pines are by Little Branch and are called Mystic Board Leaf v1 and v2 seasonal.  These are available at the newest just opened round of The Liaison Collaborative.  They rez at 7 land impact, but with both trees if you increase or decrease the land impact will go up or down.

The red fox burrow is by JIAN.  It was previously released as a Fifty Linden Friday item, so I hope you took advantage of the opening price, but if not you can find this adorable decor item at the main store for a reasonable price.  It’s animated and seasonal texture change.

The last items that I am featuring today are the loungers and lake dock by Shutter Field in collaboration with Decor Junction. These are currently at Tres Chic for a couple more days as the event is coming to a close on Nov. 10th, so grab them while you can at a discounted price.  I think they worked pretty well for a winter scene.

I’m switching gears from a fall scene earlier today to a winter scene this evening to feature this cute little winter outfit for the little ones in Second Life.  It’s from BabyBurp and available at Penumbra Autumn/Winter Fashion show this week.

To complete my scene I am also showing this cotton candy car by Mushilu that is currently at Tres Chic and can be found in a few colors.  The bench is a collaboration between Shutter Field and Decor Junction.  If it looks familiar it’s because I showed a rustic version a few days ago.

I’ll probably be doing a short post a little later to also once again mention the upcoming Draftsman event that will be launching in mid November.

Creepy things that come out at night

I’m not really into all the creepy and scary things that come around this time of year when the Halloween season is upon us.  Though I do like to challenge myself to get outside my comfort zone.  We’ll see what the days ahead will bring, because I’ve seen some really creepy make your skin crawl stuff already.

Today I’m showcasing a few items that can be found at the Salem Macabre Market & Gacha Gallows Event that will run until October 31st.  There is a bit of everything to get your scary thrills on, including home and garden decor that I am featuring.

The Hive has the “Something Sinister Gacha,” which includes the secret shack that is the rare in the set, boards on the window, chandelier, floor candelabra, pentagram and the keep out sign and put a spell on you frame.  There are a few more pieces to the set. I’ve included the gacha key at the bottom of credits.  The second item by Hive is a pumpkin cart set, that includes all the pumpkins and the cart on the porch. I love this set and will probably feature it again soon in another scene.

I’m also featuring items by unKindness.  The wall creepers set is gacha with the rare being the trick or treaters near the door.  The other two wall creepers being shown are on the window boards.  I’ve also included the gacha key at the bottom.

The last item being featured is also by unKindness and it’s the Victorian fence. It’s a kit that allows you to create your own fence line.  It’s a lovely set that works in any landscape settings.

Over yonder

I might have mentioned in a previous post or two that I don’t watch a lot of television, especially in the last few years. Until now, the last time I tuned in to watch anything was the election debates.  Recently, my niece introduced me to a few shows on Netflix, which have been entertaining and since there’s no commercials I have been on a binge watching a few shows at a time.

I just finished watching the first season of the series, “The Ranch,” and while not overly fond of all the cursing in the movie it kept me entertained enough to keep seeing it until the last show.  The comedy follows the return of a struggling semi-pro football player, to his Colorado home to help run the family farm with his father and older brother.  All played by familiar known names in the acting profession.

My pictures were not inspired necessarily from watching the movie itself.  It was from the theme song, “Mamas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys,” originally performed by Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings. I remember hearing this song when I was growing up, and it made me smile as I thought of that long ago memory.

In the first picture is another wiener dog by JIAN, the Ducky PJs wanderer, which is a common in the Wonky Weenies gacha at the Arcade.  The rest of the decor items also previously shown, are from the Hive’s American Countryside collection, and also available at this round of the Arcade.

The second picture was a just because and similar to an image that played with the theme song in the series.

Indie Teepee is back with a midsummer nights theme. If you are not familiar with this event, check out their website for more information. I’ve included the link below the credits, but taken from their site, it’s a place that “brings people together through their love of song and art – breaking down barriers and providing a haven for music genres like indie, alternative, rock, electronic dance music and hiphop.”

There is shopping as well!

Today I am featuring items by unkindness at the event.  The in tuned benches come in two version, with or without a blanket and include single m/f animations and couple ones as well.  There are four colors to choose from.

I’m also featuring the star fairy hanging by 7mad:Ravens, which is currently available at The Project Se7en event.  It’s been ongoing since June 30th and ends at the end of the month.  There are other sets available at the event as well.
