I think the title quote from one of Michelle Obama’s speech will be my motto for this year. She did a marvelous job in describing that when someone is cruel or acts like a bully you don’t stoop to their level… no, instead when they go low, we go high. Let it pertain to anyone who chooses the low road… even including those you care for. Forgive them not because they apologized or will even acknowledge they hurt you. No, instead choose to do it for yourself.. to free yourself from that negativity and always continue to love.

While I am usually drawn more to neutral warm colors for my own personal likes when I am decorating my own homes — I do like white and light colors. I think part of the reason that I’m drawn to warmer colors is that I grew up in a large family and light colors was never an option. My paternal grandmother on occasion had light color furniture, but she lived on the west coast and visits there were for short weeks at a time. My maternal grandmother had two living rooms, a formal and non formal one, but both were warm colors.

It’s one of the reasons to love about Second Life decorating. You can experiment as much as you like with decorating — trying something that may not be your usual style or colors and replace it so quickly if it’s not to your liking. If you’re like me and often stick to warm colors how about shifting to something new.

Today, I’m showing a new release by a store that I just started blogging for known as (luc) boutique, that specializes in jewelry and home decor. I hope to be showing you some more great things in the future.

I’m featuring a few pieces from their gacha at The Season’s Story. There are 12 pieces total, of which I am using 9 listed below under credits. If you’ve made it into Collabor88 this round you know the theme is all about fitness and unKindness has a yoga studio that is just fabulous to get your bums in shape. I seriously love this yoga mat. I went through all the animations it has to offer and it really has some awesome yoga and exercise animations that are smooth and flow easily with your avatar. It was hard to choose one to take a picture with, but this particular one won out as I thought of how it would feel to even attempt it in real life. I don’t know. I’m not trying it any time soon. It makes me feel sore just looking at it!

Most of the items pictured are from the set including those neon signs of stud angel or stud devil. I know — decisions decisions, but how about one of each? The bodysuit that I’m wearing is from {Luxuria}, which is an applier system and can be found at this round of The Liaison Collaborative.

Nothing says home like the smell of baking

There was a time that I really enjoyed baking and did a lot of it as I always loved having some coffee dessert on hand for family and friends when they visited, even though I didn’t drink coffee myself. I still enjoy it even if I bake mostly for a holiday or a special occasion these days. When I moved it was an opportunity to go through the the collection of baking pans, measurement cup sets, gadgets and tools that I acquired over the years. I downsized considerably.

It’s no different here in Second Life, where I’ve collected a lot of kitchen ware over the years. I’m just not ready to downsize here just yet. It’s all this wonderful realistic pieces of home goods, baking ware and gadgets that makes our kitchens come to life. I’m not disappointed with the newest releases by Ionic and Serenity Style. I mixed both with some old gacha favorites to put this kitchen scene together. There’s just too many pieces to reference, but all items used are mentioned below.

I’m also featuring a new hair release by eXxEsS called Citron, which is a long hair style even if you can’t see the back. It includes the new “Breeze” technology that animates the hair and a texture HUD that has 56-single tone hair colors. The lovely dress with a lace pattern is from Noche and it’s available in several colors at The Liaison Collaborative. Make sure to go check out this event, it’s one of the best for home, garden, fashion and a whole lot more.

Never stop learning, because life never stops to teach you

I absolutely love this “Once Upon a Time – Vintage School” gacha set, a newly released set by THOR for this month’s round of Chapter Four. Everything pictured minus the attic building and some stack of books are part of the set. There is a total of 45 items with 18 mini-sets, 3 rare and 1 reward. The rares are the table, chair and the blackboard and they all have animations. My favorite piece is actually the spinning top toy as I have one of these in real life that my eldest sister gave me, because she knows I have a love for old stuff.

The rustic attic is by Pixel Mode and it is another great decor item at this round of The Liaison Collaborative and was just perfect for creating this school setting. It has a land impact of 18 and it has a texture change floor that can be accessed by clicking the door. Makes for a great one room home as well.

I’m also featuring the items that I am wearing. The hair is a relatively new release by enVOGUE called Giovanna and it’s available at the main store. The dress is another find at the Liaison Collaborative and it’s by Entice and available in several colors. The Oyster heels/boot type combo are by Empire and are currently at Uber. I can never say enough that I love the concept of paying a slightly higher price for a 12-color Hud that you get when you purchase a pair of shoes from this maker. Plus the ability to mix and match on the different sections of the shoe.

Last item is the pose used, which is part of the “With My Baby” series from K&S Poses. It’s actually a modded version, as the original has the child facing you as you have your hands extended towards him or her. I just didn’t want to be the whole center of attention in this picture so I just un-linked them and turned her around.

We were having another cold spell where temperatures dropped into the chilly 30 plus degrees last night and it made me sort of lazy to jump into Second Life even though it was my 6th Rez Day. Instead I snuggled under covers and read. This meant I didn’t take any photos to blog and then when I attempted to log in today I found that they were doing maintenance so login was disabled for some.

In short, I finally made it in-world to put this scene together, process the photos and mark down credits, which I am leaving you to peruse as it’s close to dinner time.

The Devonshire Manor

The week off I took from blogging has been productive. I managed to shave off a little over 10,000 items in my inventory and organized my folders as well. I also tackled going through a couple of my received folders that contained items purchased off market place that probably date back to when I started. Those crazy nights when I was bored and used my iPad to visit the market place and bought things I liked. I loved finding all the landscape stuff I purchased that I didn’t remember having.

Anyways, it’s great to be back to blogging. I actually started yesterday posting a picture to my other blog as I had an event that I am committed to that had already begun. I have quite a few decor items to show in the coming days, but I thought to start with showing the latest home by DaD Design and some new landscape by Little Branch.

The Devonshire Manor is a beauty of a home and it’s huge in size with a footage of 36.8 x 30, and has a land impact of 268. I absolutely love the majestic look of the home from the outside and could visualize landscaping it in many ways. Though I opted to go for a cleaner look with a narrow stream of water to run through as any body of water is always so peaceful. I’ve included the creator details on the house below as well as their ad for inside of the house.

The trees by Little Branch are the single trees in the front of the home. The first starting from the bench side are the Wild Sassafras, V1 & V2 and then the next after the twisted is the Maple Forest and the last is Oak Wood. All the trees are seasonal, meaning that on click you can pick what season you want. I kind of took advantage and used all of them on this post, but will probably use them again in outdoor posts.

“DEVONSHIRE MANOR” Is a beautiful family house. The style of the house the style of the houses that we usually find in some parts of England. Big windows that let in the light on foggy days of winter. A graceful, central staircase welcomes you inside with some libraries built on the sides. Two beautiful living room on the right, and on the left welcome you in and they are designed as a potential single spacious lounge. You can enter the kitchen from the main living room. The master bedroom has a second room which can be used as a study or a private bathroom. The two other bedroom have a common bathroom which can be easily accessed from them. The windows of the whole house can be opened and have been arranged openings of different heights to create the most natural look possible.

Happy Friday!! I’m back again after spending a day or two doing some photos on my other blog. My Flickr sidebar gives you a view of some of those photos as I still maintain only one Flickr for both blogs.

Today I’m showcasing items from a few events and one creator that I consistently blog for, which is Bee Designs. They’ve been really hard at work making some festive stuff for this holiday season. I’m showing their items from their Winter Moments Gacha that is available at this round of Liaison Collaborative. The rare being the cabin and the commons the decor items that are scattered inside and some outside. I had fun putting all this together as I was really drawn to the simple triangle shaped cabin.

The garlands are gacha items by ChicChica at the upcoming round of Tres Chic that starts tomorrow. The theme is Holiday Magic so stay tuned for some more amazing holiday stuff coming to the grid. The Morin Khuur display is by Zansibar cretionsZ, for this round of Genre, who also has a theme and it’s anything Mongolia. The Morin Khuur known also as a horsehead fiddle is considered one of the traditional bowed string instruments in the Mongolian culture. There is a playable version in the set as well.

Other items used are the gifts near the coffee table, which are from +XAnSA+ at the Winter Solstice in the Mystic Realms. They are part of a bigger set, which are some holiday blimps, so go check them out.

Some of the outdoor landscape items that I’m using today are also from the Winter Solstice. The Tree with swing chair is by Sweet Revolutions and comes with poses for gals and guys and then smaller trees in the picture are by .AiShA. This picture doesn’t give them justice, because they are some wonderful flashing light trees. I featured them in one of my posts on my other blog, so if you want to take a better look at some lighted ones visit the event or take a peak at my “Lets rest a while the time is near” post.

That’s it for now… and if you want to hear some soothing lovely music I leave you with a Spring Waltz tune said to be by Chopin, though highly unlikely and from reading the comments section it’s not. It’s still lovely and was listening to it the whole time I was putting this post together.
