Doing a quick post this evening to show a few items for the toddleedoo. The first are these dinosaur pajamas that BoOgErS made for the Gen-Neutral event, which ends tomorrow so you still have a little time to grab them at a great price. There are two options available for you to choose from.

Over the past weekend I made two batches of peanut butter cookies, which amounted to about four dozen. So it made me chuckle as I was doing up this scene as I recalled the amount of cookies I had in the last days. I’m glad they’re all gone now. This cute “found the cookies” pose is by Buglets and is available at the main store.

My little pumpkin

It’s definitely starting to look like Fall in Second Life with all the orange, yellows and red colors you see around. I’m featuring a few new items by unKindness to help you decorate for the season.

The County Pumpkin set, which can be found at the Tres Chic event includes the pumpkin seat, pumpkin accessories on the floor and the candle tray on the table. The seat comes with male and female sit animations.

Another item by unKindness is the spooky brigade decor that is leaning up against the wall made for the Autumn Effect Hunt. You can hunt for it at the main store.

Showing some more great stuff from the Shiny Shabby event and this adorable rug from BoOgErS that is one of the gacha items at the March round of the Arcade. Only days away before the big day is here and if you have not taken a look at the shopping guide for this round, you’re missing out! Too many great things.

A little real life. I live in a relatively quiet residential community that is surrounded by lakes and it has a boat load of rules to follow as a result of over zealous members of the home owners association. I understand rules. I follow them most of the time. I make mistakes too. In fact, the very same day I got a new vehicle over a week ago I got a traffic violation for turning right on a red traffic signal at a major intersection. While I did make a complete stop before turning, I did fail to see the sign that stated there are no right turns allowed. I learned my lesson and the hefty fine made sure of it.

Though, someone forgot to inform the driver yesterday that it’s against the rules and legal laws to drink and drive these days. Otherwise, you could end up driving off the road into the lake. It was less than a block from the cul-de-sac that I reside in and it makes me shudder to think about it and just thankful there was no walkers or children on bikes when this happened.

It’s Friday and happy hour is on many minds.

The Yearbook Challenge

I decided to jump in and do the yearbook challenge, not only because I like challenges but I’m also feeling like total crap. There is a flu virus running rampant and it’s making its round with my family, so it’s my turn. Even if I felt slightly better yesterday, today it seems like I’m even worse… though hopefully it’s just my delusional state of chucking down enough nyquil cold medicine to get a decent night of rest. That stuff is pretty lethal if you ask me.

Anyways, because I am tired of laying down and I wanted to do something anything to ignore my down on the dumps mood I thought it be fun to do this challenge. Lesson 48

I have a picture of me around seven years old wearing a Betty Boop long sleeve shirt. That when I found myself in this shop the other day checking out their merchandise after seeing a very colorful top on someone I saw these dresses with the character. After a few minutes of reminiscing I couldn’t resist buying one. It has wording in the front and in the back that speaks to the emotions we can develop for people that go beyond distance.

The lesson this week speaks of love and found the dress to be perfect to convey a message of love.

Lesson 48: Lavish Love

The fastest way I know to amplify the amount of love in our hearts is to share that love with someone else. Love is contagious – the more you give, the more you get. And of course, when we lavish love upon others, we also lavish it upon ourselves.

Just imagine how you’d feel if you shared a degree of love with someone in your life that they’ve never felt from you before. What if you did something for them that was unexpected, unimaginable, and completely over the top? What effect do you think this gift would have on you? If you’re thinking it would fill you with love, you’re probably right.

This is the week to lavish love upon people you care about. Notice how much happier you feel when you share your heart with another.

Your Self-Love Assignment

Think of one special person in your life to lavish love upon this week. On a beautiful piece of stationery or in a journal, write a list of the 50 things you love most about this person and present it to him or her as your gift.

You can also go for extra credit by e-mailing a similar list to other people in your life whom you want to acknowledge: your parents, your spouse, your kids, your friends, your boss, or your co-workers. With every person you touch, you become part of a worldwide circle of love that keeps expanding.

If each of us gave this gift to give or ten people this week, think about how much love we’d send into the world!

T, U, V is for…(challenge)

The TRUTH is I am going to play catch up again. You probably got my all caps as the designer I am using to represent my letter “T” for the alphabet challenge. The hair is called “Maiko” that Truth had for the Arcade this past month. This picture also represent my letter “U” as the pose is from Unorthodox Poses, from the series called Humble.

The denim jacket that I am wearing is from Vive Nine, which represents the letter “V” for today. Though V also stands for Village and I wanted to show a few pictures from this cute picturesque placed called “Little Village.”

It’s like the perfect postcard and I did nothing other than crop, using the region wind-light.

I always admire the work that is put into creating spaces like this, just disappointing that you always find these places empty. The bright side of that is you can take pictures without anyone getting in your way.

The final picture is just a close up of some of the little houses.

M is for… (challenge)

I am sort of continuing my country theme from yesterday with today’s post. It wasn’t planned that way. When I thought about what I wanted to blog for the letter “M” today I went into my furniture folder under the designers or stores that begin with that letter. I immediately thought of the pink diesel truck that I had purchased well over a year ago from Michigan Shack when I came across the store.

When we used to travel during my pre and teenage years cross country from Florida to Washington state I would often be looking at all these diesel trucks passing us on the road and wondered what it would be like to travel in one.

It is not something that I wonder about today. Thinking driving in one of those can’t be possibly all that comfortable. On second thought, nowadays I am sure they are equipped with comfort in mind. Besides MS I am also sporting this cowboy hat from Mesh Mafia and a thermo from Monaya. Yeehaw!

Lesson 42

I had hoped to ask more than two people to answer the questions in this week’s lesson for me. Unfortunately, I was only able to get to two and only got one response back prior to this posting. My SL brother was one I asked if he would answer these questions as he’s been a constant in my life here for the last year. I value his thoughts and know that he would tell me honestly what he felt.

Thank you Paris! It is nice to know that what inspires you about me is that I hold true to my values – values about love and relationships. I appreciate that you think anything is possible for me in the next year specifically that I find the love of my life in real. That you want me to be selfish and let loose and step out of my comfort zone and not deny myself.

I am grateful to be connected with people who don’t often tell you what you want to hear, but tell you the truth as they see it in love. I may not always agree, but I do value their thoughts and opinions.

Thanks again Bro.

Lesson 42: Learn from the Mirror of Relationships

It’s been said that the three greatest mysteries of the world are air to birds, water to fish, and man unto himself. What this means is that oftentimes the things that we’re most familiar with are the hardest to understand. It can be difficult to take an honest assessment of ourselves because we lack an objective perspective.

Looking at ourselves through the eyes of others gives us a better understanding of our strengths, our limitations, and our potential. By embracing the perspective of another, we can discover aspects of ourselves that are hidden from our own view.

This week, use the mirror of relationships to gain insight into yourself.

Your Self-Love Assignment

This week, seek out two people whom you admire, and invite them to answer the following questions about you:

What about me inspires you the most?
What do you think is possible for me in the year to come?
What behavior, habit, or belief do you think I would have to give up in order to make this the best year of my life?

Sometimes you make the perfect plans for something, and hope that everything goes well and then nothing goes the way you expect. That’s been my afternoon and so what do you do? Improvise.

This would be the equivalent of my date not showing up after I went to all the trouble of preparing a “heart”y meal of pizza and icing the beer for him and the double chocolate ones for me.

Aphrodite Shops has been one of my favorite groups for a while now and I’m now honored to be blogging their items. I’m not disappointed with these heart shape place mats that rezz a feast if you’re looking for something sweet and enjoyable to share with your loved one on Valentines Day.

I could have gone for a much more fancier meal, which are included in the place mat. Though you can’t go wrong with pizza and beer either. I settled down to watch a movie all the while talking on the phone enjoying the red bouquet of roses with the delectable chocolates and cookies from this gift tray, other wonderful Valentine treats from Aphrodite. Watching this cutie pie in this movie more than made up for all the issues I had today.
