Today is the second day of the inventory challenge and after A comes B — see Peeps I know my ABCs too! 🙂

I decided to go with Boon – Boom – Beeble Bones and Bounce This Poses for my post today. Not sure if I am more excited that I am able to find things from several designers that begin with that letter or embarrassed that I have an abundance of stuff that I have never really used. Maybe this will serve that purpose as well.

A is for…

I read about this new challenge by irez.me on a fellow blogger’s site, Pics by Peeps, and thought this might be something fun and interesting to do. The challenge seems simple enough. Though requires blogging everyday for 26 days straight. You are to share an item from your inventory every day that corresponds to a letter of the alphabet. The challenge begins today on April 1st.

With an inventory that qualifies as hoarding I am pretty sure that I won’t have any trouble finding things to blog, recent and old. It’s all about sharing your ~~junk~~ stuff with pride after all.

I tried to find as much items to go with the letter of the day. Since it starts with the first letter of the alphabet “A” I choose these pajama bottoms from Apple May Designs. They were recently purchased to just goof around in when I’m doing inventory or just at my place, which is most often. The hair is also previous purchase from Argrace and my tank top, which I’ve blogged several times in the past, because I absolutely love it is from Amerie. The only thing absolutely new that was purchased today before I learned of this challenge is the pose set from Ausha&Co.

Summer in December Challenge

When I decided to move in Second Life I tore down my winter landscaping and moved to a sim that had mountains and not one single person had a winter scene, until a week ago. I set up house and landscaped in the lush green that I am familiar with here in real life. Only to land at home yesterday and find that the terrain had been turned to winter. All that hard work for naught and I was really liking being surrounded by green summery trees and plants filled with color, which are sure to die with the snowy terrain. I will have to decide whether I change to winter landscape or just put down one of those mesh terrains and make it summer again.

I live in Florida, which I have often shared and it’s hot 99% of the time. The 1% is for the odd cold fronts we get that for us Floridians its stinking cold, but for those who know snow and ice and especially those that visit from other countries it’s weather made in heaven.

Fellow blogger “Peeps” (Midwest girl living in Aussie) has issued a challenge that I decided to take part in — you can read all about how she’s seasonally challenged at her blog here. In short the instructions of her challenge were to… “Take a photo (or several) of a reminder of summer in December. Whether that is the season you experience or it is but a distant memory, show us what summer is like to you in December. Tell a story or just post the pics – it’s entirely up to you. Please leave a link in the comments of this post so I can come and check out your summery goodness!”

In my area of Florida I always say we get only Spring and Summer with the sun being less intense during the Autumn and Winter months.

This is summer in December for me and yes, and that’s the way I was leaning this Christmas in Second Life.

Travel 52 Challenge – Postcard 5

Last week was a rather quiet week for me as sometimes we need that space of silence to ponder our thoughts or just take a break from the ordinary. I hope to play some catch up with continuing to take part in the Travel 52 Challenge, so I will probably do two this week.

Some time back I ran across an item made by Quark Fallen, which then led me to find his little nook in this Second Life world we all partake in. His art work is amazing… there is a magical feel to his creations that quickly transcend you to a place of believing in fantasy and fairy tales and the happily ever after.

Throughout the locations you will find some scattered pose balls to sit and intans for dancing. Most of the pose balls were for two people, as this place is meant to be shared with someone special.

I used the creators picks to teleport my way to the ship, which is where it was easiest for me to find the other spaces he has created. There you will find the other locations, one which is a chateau that you can only access through rental. It’s meant to be a private place for couples to enjoy each other’s company dancing or a bit more. I took the thirty minute rental to see it, and well it had a lovely space when you teleport there to take pictures and well not being camera shy I posed away.

You can subscribe to receive notices of his new creations and also to receive his past gifts. If you look closely you will also find some free gifts that are absolutely delightful for decor and pictures.

Travel 52 Challenge – Postcard 3

This week’s travel challenge took me to Museum Island, which is situated on the Sunny Breezes region.

Upon arrival you immediately get the feel of being at a museum with the high arches, the signs and the banners. This is an Italian museum that features some of the historical ancient sites. You get a little bit of ancient Rome, Egypt and Babylon, just to name a few. With artistically done buildings that house the Nefertari Tomb, the Pompeian House and the Library of Ephesus, and many other historical wonders.

An ideal place for those who want a bit of culture and historical education in a beautiful setting that has been artfully designed and pretty flowered landscaped paths around the museum. It even has animated tour, while not narrated and a bit fast, it was kind of cute seeing my avatar walk around without having to use my mouse. I looked a bit clumsy at times, though that’s normal for me. There is even a boat tour that you can take.

I was pretty much the only person at the museum, until a couple arrived, which was nice to see them both take the animated tour together.

Lots of little places for taking pictures. As you can see I couldn’t help but take a snapshot of myself, which I really like this hair as it resembles my recent haircut and style in real life.

Travel 52 Challenge – Postcard 2

Instead of looking at the destination guide for places to visit as a start to do my second postcard in the Travel 52 Challenge, I opted to go through my landmarks. I figured that if I did that I could at the same time get rid of some of the landmarks that were no longer valid and that proved to be the case.

I landed at Noweeta Grassland and was immediately drawn to the fall colors.

Now I’m not sure how long this place has been around, though I know that it’s been over a year since I last visited. It’s a beautiful landscaped homestead that has animals scattered throughout and if you love horse back riding, then you’ll love this place. There are other things like a balloon ride or if you simply prefer to sit and relax, then you have the cafe or the many little areas for you to enjoy the perfect ambiance of this place.

I loved the giraffes that were roaming about and it reminded me of a trip that I took last year to Animal Kingdom, so I was smiling as I was taking the pictures.

Autumn Challenge

I love Autumn, though living in Florida we hardly get more than warm humid days. I always like to say we only have two seasons, spring and summer. Nothing changes, the leaves, trees and the ground is mostly green and it’s warm throughout the year. The only relief, which isn’t much is when it rains, then you have the muggy feel. Though I enjoy living in Florida, it’s home.

Today I decided to participate in Strawberry’s meme and you can join the challenge too by following the simple instructions: Take an autumn inspired picture and/or answer the following questions about autumn. Don’t forget to leave your answers in the comments of this post and if you take an autumn picture, please add it to the Blog Memes flickr group.

Is autumn your favorite season? Why or why not? – It actually is my favorite season. Though, as mentioned above, we don’t have an autumn season in Florida. I’ve been fortunate to travel around the US during the autumn months and the changing of the leaves is absolutely breathtaking and if you add a little nip in the air and a slight breeze it feels like heaven to me.
Do you call it Autumn or Fall? – I use both without thought.
What kind of weather does your area get during this season? – It’s very warm, usually in the highs 80s, with rain showers every day. If you want to know why it rains every day in Florida, here is a really good explanation.
Which color do you always associate with autumn? – Orange
Which Autumn themed sim is your favorite at the moment? – The two that readily come to mind is Tempura Island, which is one of the few first sims I ever visited when I joined Second Life and still one I visit from time to time and continues to be by far one of my favorites. Then the Small Town of Green, which I recently visited and saw that it was decorated in Autumn colors.

If we had Autumn in Florida, I would have that same expression as in this picture. 🙂

Intriguing Questions Meme

This week the meme Strawberry posted was a set of ten intriguing questions. I really actually like these memes that are about questions. I think it feeds my wanting to learn to know people and the way people think and act and it’s amusing at times too. I just wish there was an easier way to read all the responses.

How do you deal with criticism? It depends on my mood. Actually, I think that I’m really open to criticism now than I was several years ago. Maybe it’s maturity! I think also it’s the intent of the person delivering the criticism. Are they being constructive or are they being mean and spiteful? I think with the latter, often times it’s not you they are criticizing, more like it’s their own insecurities. On the other hand constructive criticism is helpful in your learning and growing process. I usually reflect on what is said and either take it in stride, store it and learn from it or throw it out and move on.
What’s the most infuriating thing other SL residents do? I try very hard to not let what others do affect my enjoyment in-world. The only thing that is a bit annoying, not necessarily infuriating, is the gestures that people use. It spoils any mood to want to chat locally and it really does make it hard to see what others say when you have a gesture that is so huge and you can’t even read it.
Which SL resident would you most like to have lunch with and why? There are a few people that come to mind. Though, without any doubt, it’s the two people (PB & Drems) that I spend a good portion of my time with. They are just good nature and they are completely themselves, no pretenses, and they never bore you. Plus I want to hear my sissy’s giggle snorts. 🙂
Who would you say is your “anti” role model? Someone who serves as a warning rather than an inspiration? I try never to give any one person that type of thought or consideration. If you’re someone that I can’t see myself hanging with or there is just such a negative vibe, then it is more than likely I won’t be hanging or communicating with this person. End to that.
What was something you used to enjoy, but was ruined for you? Nothing really comes to mind. I think that I go through stages of enjoying something. The excitement of something comes and goes. It’s like I can watch movies over and over and laugh each time, though after a while I move on and then later on I can go to watching the movie again and love it all over. Sort of the same thing.
What’s something you want to do that you’d be embarrassed to tell other people about? Besides telling people that I have a second life? Chuckles. I don’t think there is anything that I want to do that I would find embarrassing to tell.
What’s the oddest term of endearment you’ve ever used or that someone’s used for you? Just recently “Shoogy Magic” was used in a conversation.
Have you ever fallen in love with another SL resident? Yes.
Describe a time/event in your slife that you’re nostalgic for. I’m not really nostalgic about any time or event, though I do miss some of the sims that I used to hang out at that were calm and peaceful, and just had a nice ambiance.
What’s something sweet you’d like someone to do for you? I think any act of kindness is always sweet. I hate surprises, but surprise me!
