Airing out the d…y laundry.

Snowday Laundry2

Again, just recently two of my pictures were selected for the photo cover of two Flickr groups that I post my pictures in.  The first group was SL Home & Decor and they selected one of my New Year’s Eve pictures in which I blogged product for Aphrodite. The other group was [CIRCA] and they selected my Christmas post on their products I blogged during the holiday.   As of this posting they are still up, though possibly just a click away before being replaced with another photo.
Those are the unexpected little treats that have made my time doing photography in Second Life a nice and worthwhile experience.   Thank you to those groups and for everyone that takes the time to favor one of my pictures on Flickr.  It is always interesting to see the pictures that get the most hits, because it’s usually the ones I spend the least amount of time on or not my own personal favorites.
As an outlet to relax and have fun I just let myself go with the moment.  There are some days I’m just more inspired than other days and a scene gets developed without any planning or thoughts beforehand.  I call it a success if I’m really lucky and my mind isn’t suffering short term memory loss that day and I’m able to recall items that I have in my inventory to be able to use.  Then I can use my Flickr for inventory control.
Sorry, there was no airing out of dirty laundry… that solitary d really stood for daily.

What’s that rumble?

Is that him coming

I was going for the surprised shocked look of a child hearing the rumble coming through the fireplace except that due to a malfunction of sorts the Emoter HUD got stuck on two emotions at the same time and gave me this smile shocked expression instead.  This is why I have instead an impatient fearless child that anticipates Santa is about to arrive.

Some of the creators that participated at The Arcade during this round were very generous with their gifts that you can find under the large Christmas tree that sits in the middle of the Arcade.   Two of my favorite items were the milk and chocolate milk bottles and the plate of ginger pig cookies, which is just like one of our Mexican pastries  that looks exactly the same just a bit thicker.  They are called “Marranitos,” which translated means little piggies.

My winter dream.

I was short on time this morning, and was only able to post on Flickr before having to rush off for a morning meeting.  I have about fifteen minutes before I have to rush off again to meet a friend for lunch.  I figured that in that time I can get this done.  This is my first snow scene in Second Life all the while it’s only relatively cool with weather in the mid sixties today here in my real world as I type this.  It’s a small cold front we’re having as our normal weather is usually high seventies or low eighties.

When I thought of doing something snowy with the Christmas feel I thought of Norman Rockwell scenes.  I have always loved his work of portraying American life through his paintings.   I have been in Florida most of my life with only small stints of living in other parts of the US like a year in California and another year in Washington state.  The latter being where I experienced snow probably for the first time that I can remember when I was like seven years old.  Outside of that I have seen snow only on a few other occasions like in upstate New York while on a business trip and a family vacation in the mountains of Tennessee.

This would be my ideal snow scene.

Two-for-one shoes.

21 Shoe Hopscotch

Coming soon is the new round of the 21Shoe, a monthly event that happens on the 21st of each month that gives us shoe lovers a two-for-one bargain on new and exclusive shoes. I’m showing off the shoes that HopScotch will have for this November round.   The red/gold shoes I’m wearing are called Capture and are designed to fit the SLink medium feet.  The second pair of shoes near the table are purple with an orange lining named Sidney, and also made to fit the medium mesh feet by SLink.

You can check out the 21Shoe website as the 21st approaches to take a look at the other shoes that will be available during this round.  All the shoes can be found at the main stores and you can also grab the slurls from the website.  The other thing about this event is that it only lasts 24 hours, from 12:01 am SLT on the 21st of each month.

21 Shoe YS&YS 2

You could say I’m doing a two-for-one post today.  So this is what happens when you’re still half asleep.  I’m wearing the two shoes from *YS&YS* that will be sold also on the 21st.  The Tivoli a smooth crocodile black and the Latina open toe in beige.  The shoes are made to be used with SLink high feet and you will get two versions of the shoes — one with “sock” in the name that are made to be used when you want to apply socks to your feet.

Remember the shoes are only available for 24-hours from 12:01 am SLT on the 21st of November.

Heart Homes

It’s the first of the month and that means so many events are starting up. I’m giving you a teaser of a complete living room set that Heart Homes will have at the upcoming Seasons Story event that will run from October 10th to October 30th.

The set comes with a sofa and two chairs with decorative fall pillows, the carpet and table with candles and basket of pumpkins.  Together the sofa and chairs have 146 animations for singles and couples with very low land impact for the whole setting.

Just showing newness from ARIA that will be available at the Creation.jp event that starts on September 20th.  This is an event that is aimed to promote high quality Japanese brands.

ARIA is a guest and will have this Sorrel Console set that includes the console that has three textures for you to choose from. Splash of Sunshine

Splash of Fall
The Jewelry Fair opens today and I am showing you another couple of great items that will be available.  This metallic mixed gold necklace and these studded shades in silver are fair exclusives from **Cila**.   Normally I create my own scenes for blog pictures, except I didn’t have a scene in mind for what I ended up wearing.  I’m also really out of touch with locations in Second Life.

Recently, we moved our residence to a new region and the new land sat vacant for more than a few days until Draco ordered challenged me to decorate the land and house in two days.  I’m proud to say it only took me a few hours in one day to do the order.  Coughs.   I can’t complain considering that he did the landscaping and also decorated the majority of our last residence and the land was much bigger.  He left me the kitchen.  You think that’s a sign there?

Since it’s nearing the fall season I thought that decorating with that in mind would be sort of fitting. The color scheme was the perfect color combination for what I was wearing, so you get a glimpse of our new home.

Eating Late

I read about this new challenge by irez.me on a fellow blogger’s site, Pics by Peeps, and thought this might be something fun and interesting to do.  The challenge seems simple enough.  Though requires blogging everyday for 26 days straight.  You are to share an item from your inventory every day that corresponds to a letter of the alphabet.  The challenge begins today on April 1st.

With an inventory that qualifies as hoarding I am pretty sure that I won’t have any trouble finding things to blog, recent and old.  It’s all about sharing your junk stuff with pride after all.

I tried to find as much items to go with the letter of the day.  Since it starts with the first letter of the alphabet “A” I choose these pajama bottoms from Apple May Designs.  They were recently purchased to just goof around in when I’m doing inventory or just at my place, which is most often.   The hair is also previous purchase from Argrace and my tank top, which I’ve blogged several times in the past, because I absolutely love it is from Amerie.  The only thing absolutely new that was purchased today before I learned of this challenge is the pose set from Ausha&Co.

To help you prepare…

Sometimes you make the perfect plans for something, and hope that everything goes well and then nothing goes the way you expect.  That’s been my afternoon and so what do you do?  Improvise.

This would be the equivalent of my date not showing up after I went to all the trouble of preparing a “heart”y meal of pizza and icing the beer for him and the double chocolate ones for me.  

Aphrodite Shops has been one of my favorite groups for a while now and I’m now honored to be blogging their items.   I’m not disappointed with these heart shape place mats that rezz a feast if you’re looking for something sweet and enjoyable to share with your loved one on Valentines Day.

I could have gone for a much more fancier meal, which are included in the place mat.  Though you can’t go wrong with pizza and beer either.    I settled down to watch a movie all the while talking on the phone enjoying the red bouquet of roses with the delectable chocolates and cookies from this gift tray, other wonderful Valentine treats from Aphrodite. Watching this cutie pie in this movie more than made up for all the issues I had today.
