The weekend was over much too quick and it seems the days are going much faster since the time switched or my body clock just needs a few more days to adjust.  I popped into SL late last night to get this shot in to post today, having interrupted my ongoing rhythm of blogging daily over the weekend.  It’s alright, it wasn’t a goal or anything.  I find blogging helps keep my mind occupied and that in itself helps me relax, plus its fun dressing up and creating scenes and even more fun sharing.

St. Patrick’s holiday is right around the corner and when I think of a celebration it conjures up Irish dancing, music, shamrocks, wearing green and drinking Guinness.  Aphrodite Shops wants to help you celebrate as well with this Irish Pub that comes equipped with 20 animations and 18 props, with many drink dispensers and St. Patrick’s decor.   It also includes one of my favorite features in furniture today, and that is having the option and choice to change the wood, fabric and metal.  Watch the video to see many of the animations that it contains to give you the ultimate role-play experience.

Speaking of role-play… poised with finger on the trigger… can I pass as a bond girl?

Spacing out.

Just something fun.

Over the weekend I updated my profile picture on the few media sites I use.  Really there are only two that I use frequently, which are this blog and Flickr.  I am registered on a couple other sites that I don’t use very much. For example, one I have and don’t use is Facebook that I joined at the prodding of a friend.  I haven’t used it for any purpose other than to add them.  I have never been a big fan of this social network even if many people I know use it more avidly than I ever will.   It used to be that I heard everyone talking about it, and now the talk seems to be all about Instagram rather than the latter. The other media outlet I use even though most of my albums are private is google photos.  I tend to sign up to these sites to check them out as a viable option and then find that I’m either quickly bored or they tend to be rather difficult to understand and so I let them fall by the wayside.  I should delete them at some point.

This picture is somewhat of a change than my usual — it’s just for a bit of fun.  Thanking my friend Claire, who sent me the rare little alien “Khany” that is accompanying me on the space rocket.  Check out her blog and her post showing off her space suit and her wicked hair.  I think that’s her aversion to kids in SecondLife, even though I think she’s starting to like my little imp.  🙂

Today I happened to see the new meme that Strawberry posted that deals with death.  A bit of a morbid subject to write on your birthday, though it seemed like an interesting meme to participate in. The instructions if you wish to participate is as follows:  Meme instructions: Answer the following questions about death. Don’t forget to share the link to your post in the comments and add your pictures in the Blog Memes flickr group.

  1. Do you ever think about dying? How do you expect you’ll die?– Hardly ever.  I probably have those thoughts when I hear of someone dying in such a terrible way that my mind gravitates to wondering how I will pass on.
  2. Do you believe in an afterlife? If so, how do you visualize it? I grew up believing that there is and not something I ponder on today that much.  I sort of fall into the belief that our spirit lives on.  I want to visualize coming back like in some movies where you get the chance to come back to life, but only a handful of people can see you as you’re given some assignment before entering the pearly gates.
  3. What is your preferred form of apocalypse and why?– I don’t have one.  I just hope to be gone if it happens.
  4. How many times have you cheated death so far?– I am sure more than what I know — as recently I found out that as a baby I was very sick with high fever and in the hospital for a few days.  Outside a car accident I really can’t think of anything else.
  5. Which fictional villain would you be okay being killed by?– Gosh.  I don’t watch enough television or seen many movies lately to know who plays a villain and worth being killed by.  Though I know who I would want to be rescued by… he comes to mind because he recently graced the cover of a magazine I received — William Levy.
  6. If you’re murdered, do you stay and haunt the culprits forever or do you give up that opportunity to leave and go to heaven/hell/Cancun?– Nah.  I believe in that you reap in what you sow.  I’ll go on to heaven please.
  7. Will you have done everything you have wanted by the time you die?– Probably not.  There’s always one more thing to get done.

Mishap.

This is my last post on the jewelry that is available at the Jewelry Fair, which completes my commitment to blog at least one item from each of the creators that nicely sent me their items to blog.  Not being a big jewelry person in either world, mainly opting to wear just a watch and the occasional rings this was sort of an accomplishment.

When putting together this outfit I had a little mishap, which turned out alright.  Absentmindedly I was clicking removing one hair and clicked to wear another from the same creator without really paying attention.  Then when I did look I found both hairs still attached to my head. Looking closer I didn’t think they looked bad together so I left them.

I mentioned that I rarely wear jewelry in my real world, even though I have a jewelry box that contains all sort of fashionable jewelry that I either purchased because I thought they looked great and envisioned wearing or gifts over the years.  When I wear earrings I usually go for small size earrings that won’t feel very weighty on my small ears.

These I’m wearing are not small.  I chuckled at the name — big stud triple diamond earrings and what girl doesn’t like big… stud… and triple diamonds?   The earrings along with the Aztec silver necklace are from Luxury and thought they went pretty well with this equally fabulous dress from Luas that is available at the new round of the Secret Affair that recently opened.

Today is Mexican Independence Day and I couldn’t go without honoring this holiday in some way. While it is something thought of and often acknowledged on this day, it’s not typically a holiday that many American born Mexican families in the USA celebrate.  That doesn’t mean we’re not proud of our heritage.  Most of us have a great appreciation for our Mexican culture and the homeland of our ancestors.  If anything we definitely enjoy our Mexican food.

There was a time when I was back in secondary school that I fancied studying to be an architect until the realization that I would have to take several advanced math classes.  I admire people like my mom that can solve mathematical problems in their head at a moments notice.  I still shudder at the memory of those hideous math classes that I had to take to complete my business degree.

ARIA has a fabulous looking drafting table set out at this round of The Mens Department.  The set comes complete with the table, stool, short radiator, pendant light and small and large potted cactus plants.  The set is reasonably priced for both PG or adult version.

Living in Florida the sun is almost always shining.  I just need to step out my front door and the humidity along with the fierceness of the sun hits my face.   It isn’t too long before I’m longing once again for the coolness and comfort of an indoor air conditioned room.

Lately there has been rain almost daily and I can’t complain.  It does wonders for my lawn and washes away some of the dirt and pollen dust from my car.

It’s actually good days to go to the beach here and this float from Kuro would be just the thing to take along to soak up the sun rays with a little bit of protection too.  Of course I would probably buy a different color tube — black naturally absorbs more heat.  The crown of my head can attest to that.

Lesson 47:  Feed Your Internal Flame

Have you ever wondered why certain people light up a room when they walk in? Why do some of us have the clarity to envision an inspiring future and the courage to go after our dreams? You may think it’s a result of charisma or determination, or just plain old good luck. But I’ve come to understand that it’s the strength of our life force – that unique inner power that keeps us alive spiritually and physically – that gives us the stamina to translate our dreams into realities.

You can think of your life force as a flame that lives inside you, giving you passion, strength, and energy. Every choice you make either adds to this force, making it stronger and brighter, or diminishes your inner force, reducing its power.

Your assignment this week is to make choices that feed your flame.

Your Self-Love Assignment

Look back over the past 30 days of your life and allow yourself to see the choices you made and the actions you took that diminished or dampened your inner flame. Did you overwork, overeat, over commit, or overspend?

Now ask yourself, “What actions could I take in the week to come that will feed my internal fire and leave me feeling great about myself?”

Commit to taking one action each day that will keep your internal fire blazing.

A bit of window dressing…

While I am prone to headaches and on those rare occasions get some headaches that turn into migraines I typically never have them last more than a day or get them every other day as the case has been here lately.

Not the best way to enjoy the holiday season and I’ve had to miss a couple of holiday parties as a result, since the effects for me after a migraine is feeling tired and disoriented.

In any case I am thankful for the things I do have even in the midst of this mild distraction, like my family and friends and the time to gather and create memories.  It is those moments that we renew our love for one another and share our faith, joy and hope for each other.

I hope that you are experiencing something similar during the Christmas holiday.
