During this round of Enchantment one of the prizes if you completed a stamp card was this long hair from Tableau Vivant. It comes with lots of color choices, so not a bad prize at all. My friend Claire and I really liked this hair so we decided to take some photos together. I was shooting for the Latina Rapunzel except black in this hair didn’t look very good on me.

I’m also the proud owner of the llama that’s next to me thanks to Claire. It’s absolutely cute and you just wear it and it walks right along side of you. You can find them at the ongoing school festival. I still have not been able to complete this event, each time I go its pretty full and it lags me terribly that it’s impossible to even look.

Travel 52 Challenge – Postcard 8

Yesterday I visited the China sim for the very first time. From what I read from a description on it the sim was designed as an interactive Chinese brush painting. It’s not a new sim. It’s just new to me, having never visited or even known about its existence.

I must admit as much as I still enjoy the wonders of this virtual world I had lost a little of that exploration bug. Someone once told me that the novelty does wear off after a while. Maybe there is some truth to the statement. I like to believe that I try to always keep that inner child open to the creative imagination that gets sparked by the things I do in this world, including exploring places like this one.

In thinking about this. Sometimes I just lack the patience to stand still long enough for a place to completely rez so that I can enjoy what it offers. More often than not I teleport out as quickly as I entered. The landmark in the inventory for a future visit and as time passes the intention of visiting becomes something of the past.

Though I was quite happy to visit this place and was quite delighted with the concept. The simplicity is what makes it very appealing and beautiful in my eyes.

T, U, V is for…(challenge)

The TRUTH is I am going to play catch up again. You probably got my all caps as the designer I am using to represent my letter “T” for the alphabet challenge. The hair is called “Maiko” that Truth had for the Arcade this past month. This picture also represent my letter “U” as the pose is from Unorthodox Poses, from the series called Humble.

The denim jacket that I am wearing is from Vive Nine, which represents the letter “V” for today. Though V also stands for Village and I wanted to show a few pictures from this cute picturesque placed called “Little Village.”

It’s like the perfect postcard and I did nothing other than crop, using the region wind-light.

I always admire the work that is put into creating spaces like this, just disappointing that you always find these places empty. The bright side of that is you can take pictures without anyone getting in your way.

The final picture is just a close up of some of the little houses.

Strolling through Autumn

“Sometimes” said Pooh, “The smallest things take up the most room in your heart.”

There are many sims beginning to change into winter scenes as evident by many of the pictures I have seen across the blogesphere or on Flickr. I guess in many parts of the world it’s starting to turn cold and white, so it’s only natural to begin to see it in-world as well. In my real life I am happy just to enjoy the windy weather we are having this weekend, even though the air is warm.

As for me in Second Life. I thought that I would enjoy one more day of these pretty Autumn colors, so I took a stroll through Binemist. While I didn’t take pictures of the location, it really is a lovely place that I would highly recommend visiting. It has many spots for photos and the owner allows the rezzing of items for about thirty minutes.

Travel 52 Challenge – Postcard 3

This week’s travel challenge took me to Museum Island, which is situated on the Sunny Breezes region.

Upon arrival you immediately get the feel of being at a museum with the high arches, the signs and the banners. This is an Italian museum that features some of the historical ancient sites. You get a little bit of ancient Rome, Egypt and Babylon, just to name a few. With artistically done buildings that house the Nefertari Tomb, the Pompeian House and the Library of Ephesus, and many other historical wonders.

An ideal place for those who want a bit of culture and historical education in a beautiful setting that has been artfully designed and pretty flowered landscaped paths around the museum. It even has animated tour, while not narrated and a bit fast, it was kind of cute seeing my avatar walk around without having to use my mouse. I looked a bit clumsy at times, though that’s normal for me. There is even a boat tour that you can take.

I was pretty much the only person at the museum, until a couple arrived, which was nice to see them both take the animated tour together.

Lots of little places for taking pictures. As you can see I couldn’t help but take a snapshot of myself, which I really like this hair as it resembles my recent haircut and style in real life.

Travel 52 Challenge – Postcard 2

Instead of looking at the destination guide for places to visit as a start to do my second postcard in the Travel 52 Challenge, I opted to go through my landmarks. I figured that if I did that I could at the same time get rid of some of the landmarks that were no longer valid and that proved to be the case.

I landed at Noweeta Grassland and was immediately drawn to the fall colors.

Now I’m not sure how long this place has been around, though I know that it’s been over a year since I last visited. It’s a beautiful landscaped homestead that has animals scattered throughout and if you love horse back riding, then you’ll love this place. There are other things like a balloon ride or if you simply prefer to sit and relax, then you have the cafe or the many little areas for you to enjoy the perfect ambiance of this place.

I loved the giraffes that were roaming about and it reminded me of a trip that I took last year to Animal Kingdom, so I was smiling as I was taking the pictures.

I had read in a couple of blogs and been told that World’s End Garden would be closing on the 18th of October. This wasn’t a place I was familiar with, so I made a note to visit before it’s eventual end. Upon landing, I immediately saw the draw of this place. The magical beauty of the colors and flowers and the tranquility and serenity of such a peaceful scene of the cross. I couldn’t help but think of an angelic picture.

I tried the black wings, though they just didn’t go well with me. At least not today. 🙂

Colors, like features, follow the changes of the emotions – Pablo Picasso

There is a concept known as color psychology, which basically is an explanation of how colors at the conscious and subconscious level affect a person’s emotions, mood and energy as a few examples. In essence the study of how it impacts human behavior.

For instance you might have heard that the color red represents power and passion. It is a very strong vibrant color that elicits a strong emotion. Or yellow representing sunshine and cheerfulness. In this picture I am wearing green, a color that many people associate with money and yet it is also known to be the color of balance, nature and often referred to as the color of healing. Other meanings associated to the color green are growth, fertility and change.

When I was growing up, in one of the houses that we lived in there was a green toilet and sink, so for the longest time I was not too keen on this color. Today I like green in all its variations — dark green, yellow green, olive and aqua to name a few. It is a color that I like to wear often and I just love it on this dress from Zaara. It has fabulous detail and it’s perfect casual wear.

‘My favorite day,’ said Pooh.

‘What day is it?’ asked Pooh. ‘It’s today,’ squeaked Piglet. ‘My favorite day,’ said Pooh.

I have been slowly cleaning my inventory. Actually, that’s an ongoing process! Except I have been really focusing on going through folders I haven’t been in for the longest of time — and it’s gotten a bit easier to hit the delete key. Especially when I weight it up against a similar item in mesh.

As much as I would love to get done yesterday, this is going to take several months at least. I hope not. Though as much as I find cleaning my inventory relaxing, every now and then I have to take a much needed break, which brings me to this location I visited.

If you’re looking for a place that has a bit of a romantic feel to it with outdoor seating areas for you to sit and eat or do the people watching thing, then DeJaWu, a sim representative of Istanbul Turkey, would be ideal for you. It’s a place where you can hold your significant other’s hand while strolling and admiring the flowers or enjoying a slow romantic dance.

Or if you’re more of a loner like I am then you can walk around basking in the cool breeze coming from the nearby ocean.

Either way, just make it your favorite day!
